I’m waiting for the sex scandal on Minister Wright.

I can see the headline now: “Wright Riding Dirty on $1000 Hooker.”

Mickey - 06:03am on 03/28/2008

Mickey:  Sex scandal??  Have you forgotten that Rev. Wright is a man of the cloth, dedicated to preaching love, tolerance, brotherhood and truth?

How dare you, man!! smile

This is actually one of the cruelest things they could do to their pastor.  They’re taking him and his wife out of the community they’ve lived in for decades, putting him in a home they can neither fully enjoy nor maintain themselves, and in doing so they’re wasting a cool million or two that could have been used for any number of other purposes--say paying off a church mortgage or actually helping their members make ends meet and get into productive trades.

Their choice; I just think it’s an exceedingly foolish one.  Senior citizens, like the rest of us, need community, and this deprives Rev. Wright of that.

Obama chose to use the race card first by saying, A vote for him would be a vote for black people. The Rev. Wright just brought it into the open more clearly. Obama should resign!

Zsa Zsa.  I agree with you.  He had a tough call and could not divorce himself from his racist ideas.  This is going to be very interesting.  At least some are now at least acknowledging the very idea that someone else besides a caucasian can be racist!
Watashiwa.  Explain this:

Too many charlatans are robbing the people and enriching themselves with 2 or more homes, private jets, luxury vehicles.

Explain robbing.

Jesus, when speaking of John The Baptist gave us a perfect illustration of what we should look for in a true minister of the Gospel, a man of His anointing, where they would be found and what they would be doing. He asked, would we find them wearing fine clothing (expensive suits, jewelry and other signs of wealth) or living in kings houses (mansions, driving the finest cars, have a jet set lifestyle or anything indicating wealth beyond that of the average Christian.) His answer was to have us look at John who wore the clothing of the poorest of the poor, ate the lowest form of food, having no home or material goods. This was what we should look for in ministers of the Gospel, self sacrificing, humble people like John are anointed for the Gospel, not people lusting after wealth or living a prosperous lifestyle.

That is not to say God does not want His servants to receive just wages for their work sharing the Gospel or to live in the streets. He also blesses many men and women with great wealth to support the ministry of sharing the Gospel all over the world. Rather, I think, it means that we should be suspicious of the anointing if we see a minister of the Gospel living a life far above that of the average member of his congregation. How can he minister to people he would not invite into his home, to people that face struggles in daily life he cannot truly appreciate, how can he know their sorrows and needs, when his weathy lifestyle prevents him from having intimate communion with each member?

Is a mansion worthy of a minister of the Gospel in this world? Does the Bible speak about ministers retiring from ministry to live in ease, comfort and no longer caring for the lost and dying? Sorry, people but this image of Wright, in his words and lifestyle do not fit very well with my understanding of the Faith. I am not judging his salvation or if at one time he was truly anointed by the Lord, only that his words and deeds of today seem far from that of dear John-The-Baptist that, Jesus said was a greater minister than other men that are caught up in this world system.

Yep.. looks like the white people are keeping dis bruthah down!
Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Maybe, when a pastor retires, the Bible doesn’t mean the same as once preached

It seems that you are determined to keep Rev Wright in the spotlight and turn this election into one of race rather than character.

I’d like the lection to be about who’s the best possible president. How can a candidate for the United States of America have spent so much of his time associating with America haters like Wright, William Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, and there’s more.

This guy wants to be comander-in-chief, yet he freely associated with people who think that America is the villians.

And these things have to be kept alive in the blogosphere, because the mainstream media refuses to scrutinize Obama to the level they would scrutinize a Hillary Clinton or a Mitt Romney.

Wing Chun: Well said! The MSM and DNC and Obama would like nothing more than for the blogosphere to be quiet about this issue, but it must be kept alive through the election if the American people will be able to make an informed, intelligent decision about him.

10,340-square-foot, four-bedroom home

Those must be some mighty hellacious bedrooms. 10,340-square-feet ... mercy, I can’t even fathom the necessity of something so large.
