That commie bastard. Why does Bob Seeger hate America? Why is he rooting for the terrorists? Why does he want our soldiers to die? Doesn’t he know that if our soldiers don’t hear him sing that song, they immediately put down their weapons and surrender? He’s acting like our soldiers are grown men for crying out loud!
The only thing less American than Bob Seeger is baseball, in my opinion.

He’s right about the anthem. It’s tough for professionals to sing. The worst version to me was Whitney Huston’s.

Heck the only Whitney Houston I have is the S.S. Banner.

It’s rather odd to abandon the tradition of singing the National Anthem at such Baseball games, but having said that I wish there was a more serious move in this country to change our national anthem. It is a TERRIBLY difficult song to sing and there are many other beautiful, singable songs that describe the greatness, power, oportunity, and everything else that is so wonderful in America.
America the Beautiful is one of my favorites....

I love our national anthem.
Guess I’m dumb or something.

I agree the song is tough to sing.
But I do get emotional everytime I think of the story.
BTW: My account didn’t come across the latest upgrade so Rob’s listed as the author of that piece that I wrote.

Ha, who every said you were dumb Rob? I don’t care for the tune much. Though I stand and remove my cap and (attempt to) sing along every time it’s played…

Spaghetti, that was a joke. Guess it didn’t come through in text.
I like the music of the anthem. It’s our song, and I don’t want to change it.

The National Anthem is a fine song.
Unfortunately, condutors/performers have slowed it down so much it becomes almost unberable. If we would learn to sing it at a quickerpace, with some force It would be great.
The song’s notes range an octave and a half a stretch for the every day singin in the shower type person. I beleive it is much better played by a military brass band than sung by anyone. (let alone an aging washed up sell out like Bob Segar)
Sing it with me, children:
“Like a Crock”.....
