I was a big fan of Roger Miller back in the day! At one time, I probably knew every song he’d ever published.
I saw him in concert at the Circle Star Theater in Concord, CA. It was a great venue- theater in the round - all the seats were good!
He had “Thumbs" Carllile playing guitar with him that night, and Thumbs was playing the same Fender Coronado II that I had at the time (though I suspect he played his a might better!). So I walked up on stage before the concert (much to the chagrin of my date) and started talking to him!
Good times!

Now I am going to have that song in my head all day. I love them…

Just a side note: “Thumbs” got his nickname from the way he learned to play guitar. He lived out in the country and had never seen anyone play the guitar, so he laid it on his lap and learned to play with his thumbs.
If you’ve ever heard him play, it’s hard to imagine his artistry was not only self taught, but not in the most ergonomically efficient manner either!
Wow those guys are good
