I live in Nevada, and we are becoming more ‘purple’ as Californians leave their old socialist worker paradise behind and move here.
What always puzzles me is that they don’t ever seem to make the connection between mindlessly voting for Democrats and the socialist policies that such politicians invariable support.
Will be sad/amusing to see everyone fleeing Nevada for some other place in 10-20 years as it becomes more and more like California.

I work with a couple Massachusetts natives who lost their jobs as they explained “because of the business climate in the state”, yet these retards go around with Obama stickers and trumpet democrat politics. Yes I know, typical leftist, not too bright.
And yes, I have asked them why they want the same politics in Indiana that drove them from their native homes. Since there’s no talking-point designed for them I’ve not got an answer either time.

People aren’t leaving due to high taxes (eg, the failure of liberalism); they’re leaving due to basic problems of scarcity. They’re not being taxed out of the city; they’re being rent-hiked out.

The property values of existing properties go up (supply and demand) and the property taxes go up as well. This affects both the homebuyer and the renter, who sees these costs passed along.

There is a bit of a lack of a learning curve, isn’t there. I heard the same complaints from the natives in Oregon and Washington, with respect to Leftists streaming in from California. Not sure what the political composition of those places were before the economic refugee stream from CA started, but they are going down the same angle-descent that got California in trouble in the first place. And so it is with Leftist New Yorkers, New Jersey and Mass tax refugees trying to flee the tax tyrannies of those states, yet bringing the Leftist attitudes with them down to Florida.
There seems to be a recurring theme in Hollywood films and music—escaping a certain place.
Silly Leftards—the problem is self-created and goes with them wherever they go. The best way to fix the problems they inevitably find themselves in is to stop their dysfunctional behavior.

One troubling (for conservatives) outcome of that trend is that many states that were once strongholds for Republicans are now becoming more purple than red as migrating liberals continue to support the politicians who support the policies they left behind in other states.

Poor San Franciscans, all those liberal policies are producing too much wealth, and now those evil liberals are bringing some of this corrupting liberal-wealth to red states.
Maybe some good honest, run-into-the-ground conservative policies are needed. Make sure the wealth is spread amongst just a tiny handful of people.
