I know nothing about the movie, did not see it. My neighbor saw it, said they were nice polite boys that did not know how to drive. He said when they were out drinking at the bar, they were always trying to push in each other’s stool. And after they left the bar, said they had a couple of rear-end collisions in the parking lot.

I think they should have named it Gay Cowboys or something in like that in America… much more to-the-point…
You know what the greatest shame about this movie is? The fact that society at large is never going to see two cowboys together anymroe without secretly wondering if they are "brokeback"... What a shame this movie ever was made…

Au contraire! This movie will be used throughout the Middle East to show the debauched nature of the U.S. and the west in general.
It could be a huge hit there.

What’s "debauched" about it? I haven’t seen it yet.
I have a good friend from Turkey, I’ll get back to you on this translation....

I thought it was a fabulous movie. People who are criticizing it have not seen and may be just a bit afraid to see it. It is nothing like I thought it would be. I was still thinking about this movie a couple of weeks after I saw it. It will probably get the Best Picture award. Ang Lee did a masterful job directing this movie and the ensemble cast really were unbelieveable over the 30 years of the movie. I loved it. You really just have to see it.

I have wondered since the beginning, why they continue to call it a "gay cowboy movie" when it’s about two gay sheepherders? Why lie? Could it be that most city people(and non-sheepherders) think sheepherders, even non-gay ones, are a little weird? Maybe they are lying to cash in on the macho image of cowboys. I don’t know any of this as far as their motives are concerned, buy why lie about it? I’m suspicious when people who know better seem to need to lie.

Oh Lord! Hollywood is screwing over USA. People who watch movies like this are just encouraging others to think, "That is what Americans like, that is what America is!" The worst part about Brokeback Mountain was not the gay part (ack ackkk). The worst part was that is condoned adultery.

Yes, I hear it involved the destruction of two marriages. Sounds "fabulous" to me!(heavy irony)
Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

And I still don’t understand why people are treating this like the first movie about gay cowboys. Does no one remember 1943’s "Red River"? (http://www.llgff.org.uk/films_details.php?FilmID=551)
