Rob I believe this could turn out worse than Senator Conrad is leading on. I hope this picks up speed. This is the stuff that the democratss ran on when they were taking back the senate and house in 2006 and now they are doing the same things they accused the GOP of. Drain the swamp and send these guys home.

Funny how when it is a democrats they don’t get as much scrutiny.

Kent Conrad is either too corrupt to continue representing the people of North Dakota… or too stupid.  There really are no other choices.

Step down?!  No chance of that happening.

This thing’s gonna die soon, and here’s why: there is probably a GOP senator or two who also received sweetheart deals from Countrywide.  They won’t press for an investigation when they know their actions will also be scrutinized.  Mozilo was buying off politicans left and right (pun intended).

This is the guy responsible for writing the country’s budget!
I realize he’s been on the dole almost his whole life, but c’mon!

WhaTha?--Doesn’t matter if Rep or Dem. if they have done wrong then they gotta go. Conrad lied about who the owner was also. Maybe the loan can be made out to be legit but the lie will/should get him.

WhaTha?

You may very well be correct that Mozila tried to influence members of both parties, but so far there is no evidence to support your presumption.  Furthermore, it appears Conrad, who lied about the ownership of the property, sought out Mozila, not the other way around.

If you’ve got anything to substantiate your feeling, by all means share it with the rest of us.

This means little Lord Pomeroy and Byron Dorgan are friends of “a Friend of Angelo!”

In his editorial today, Tom Dennis chalked it up to Conrad’s naiveté; he just didn’t know any better.  Are you kidding me?  He must think his readership is naive too to believe such nonsense.

If Tom Dennis had a shred of integrity himself, he would have called for Kent Conrad to step aside, and for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to strip Conrad and Dodd of their respective Committee chairmanships pending a full Justice Department investigation of Mozila’s activities.

Of course, neither Harry Reid nor Tom Dennis has that “shred of integrity” anyway.  But then, thoughtful individuals who are possessed of personal integrity don’t take either Reid or Dennis very seriously.
