But they are our best and brightest. Those who choose to be the very tip of the spear (Army and Marine combat arms) especially so, and mostly from the upper third of the middle class. The junior gigolo from mASSachussetts, with his lackluster grades and AFQT scores, would be unlikely to be admitted to todays all volunteer force in any capacity.

Last time I checked we had a volunteer military made up of professionals.

Rodney, didn’t mean to imply that our troops aren’t our best and brightest. I was just making a sarcastic response to Kerry’s nonsense.

Today, Kerry issued a statement, not apologizing for what he said, but rather, accusing Republicans of “lying” about him.
For the uninitiated: “Lying” = “Quoting me correctly.”

Kerry speaks from the perspective of a man who cynically used his military service to advance his political aspirations. He has settled for being the “junior” Senator from MA for the past twenty years. His ambitions seem to mostly consist of marrying rich women. What a guy! He is not qualified to shine the shoes of our present soldiers.

Proofreader emeritus,
Why would anyone want or need to lie about John Kerry (other than John “Christmas in Cambodia” Kerry himself, who seems to reinvent himself more often than Al “I invented the Internet” Gore) when he keeps gifting us with whoppers like this one?

During the last two hours, sampling radio fare, it seems a platoon of Kerry apologists are out explaining how this(quoting him correctly) is a “personal attack”, what he meant to say and my favorite: “He was tired.”
Remember when Clinton used that chestnut to explain one of his political gaffes? Senator Kerry… we knew Bill Clinton, we were lied to by Bill Clinton… You’re no Bill Clinton!

Kerry also put himself on the same level as Micheal J. Fox. Nice touch.
