Blacks “are inferior to the whites in the endowments of both of body and mind.”

go to the Mike Church web site.  Learn something.  As per normal, ellinas takes a quote out of context.  Order ‘The Road to Independence’ and get the facts straight.  Jefferson appeased the south to get them to go along with the union.  I believe the reseach that Church did is much more actually correct than ellinas’s post.

I am old enough to remember the Democrats (gov. wallace) of the south and how they were the ones who hate blacks and tortured them.  (word tortured used by todays standard set by the Dems themselves)

To the good and honest people here at SAB:
I copied and pasted the above quote from a Rodney Graves post.
Our good friend r180 had nothing to say when someone of the conservative folk said it.
But know that I posted it, witness the hypocrisy of r180.
Also please witness how this lying nanny stater hypocrite will twist and spin out of this.
Or else he is a coward of epic proportions.

Last Best Hope - 10:07am on 07/05/2009

First, here’s a video of bush going on TV to tell the people that he fucked up bad and if they don’t give Hank Paulson (Treasury Secretary and Goldman Sachs alum) $700 billion dollars to bail out Wall Street, the economy would collapse.

The tea parties, the whining and bitching about the national debt, all of it is simply disappointment, buyer’s blues if you will, coming from the people who supported conservatism and are now getting screwed by it.

30 years ago the republicans convinced the people to give them a chance to govern. In return, the people were promised a no-tax, first rate country with all the trimmings. No more poor people to pay taxes to support, plentiful choices on the road to prosperity, “Lives of the Rich and Famous” for everyone. The majority voted their greed out of profound ignorance.

Over the years these people waited and waited for that magic Utopia. When it failed to sufficiently materialize, they went into deep debt, determined to have that rich and famous life, income be damned. The republicans were more than happy to oblige, allowing the FIRE (finance, insurance, real estate) economy to grow unabated and unregulated as the players in those sectors laid the foundation for this New Road to Serfdom.

Now, Wall Street has taken back the fake wealth it “created” for the duped middle class. Gone is 30-50% of the retirement account with the home equity following, probably for a decade or more. The rich and famous life imagined by the people who trusted the conservative direction of free markets, supply-side tax policy and deregulation is now a mirage. So they’re pissed.

So what do they do? Reach out for the familiar scapegoat, government and the liberals-the latter being dormant since the mid-1960s, the former weakened and neutered by decades in pursuit of the corporate over the civic- as a comfortable place to lay the blame.

How could they have been so wrong? It all sounded so good! Taxes should be nearly zero by now since as all good middle class republicans know, welfare for lazy minorities makes up 90% of the tax they paid and we’ve pretty much ended that. The trillions in taxes given to the wealthy was supposed to create widespread prosperity but has instead taken more of the pie from the faithful middle class republicans.

So now they make signs and blame the wrong bad guys, gathering in small groups to lay on their backs kicking and screaming because it turned out so differently from how they pictured it.

Ellinas…

“Those who are not Athenian men are mere penestae; unworthy in the eyes of the gods; fit only to be slaves.”

Pericles of Athens, 451 BC, speaking on democracy.

pparets. Thank you for your timely reminder of what the great Athenian statesman/general said 2500 years ago.
I belong to the Dorian tribe, I am Macedonian.
Pericles was of the Ionian (Attic) tribe.
The penestae were the sharecroppers/slaves of the land in ancient Attica and Thessaly (both Greek provinces.

I posted what Thomas Jefferson said in 1787 as a tribute to Rodney Graves (for he has posted it several times now).
Yet I am the only one that catches flack.
I wonder why? Is it hypocrisy, or is it double standard.

No. I don’t get it. You never said anything like this when your fellow traveler Rodney Graves posted this.
He has posted this several times. Why the double standard?
Or is it hypocrisy on your part?

ellinas - 12:07pm on 07/05/2009

Ellinas…  just wanted to remind you that the Greek interest in democracy and racism was way ahead of Thomas Jefferson.

Since blacks make up less than 1.5% of the modern Greek population, one would assume that Periclesian views still hold sway.
