I am a Democrat and I supported the surge. I disagreed with Obama’s position about the surge but I respected their opinion that perhaps I was wrong and they were right....again.
If that is an indication of poor leadership than Bush should have been thrown out on his ear for his extremely consistent and pathetic indications of poor leadership.
Decisions in war are made, some good some not so good. But you can’t have it both ways. You can’t on one had say that Bush’s mistakes in judgement were acceptable, but his opponents are not.
Using your conditions for judgement would favor Obama anyway, he was against the initial invasion.
That is a loosing battle for you McCain and all of the hawks. We don’t even know what the end result in Iraq will be.

In some ways I have to agree with Hannitized. The same lack of foresight can be attributed to Bush as well. The administration overlooked the likely possibility of an insurgency and failed to plan appropriately in the early stages of the war. Foresight is definitely a leadership quality, but no leader is infallible. That being said, I still think Obama would be a terrible leader.
