Kenny, please point out where I said anything like what your wrote:
Only a contentious person could read “a little or nothing more” to read that the author meant “absolutely nothing at all”.
I never indicated that the author meant “absolutely nothing at all.” It is Whistler who mischaraterized the study and reworded the language used by the author to suit his needs.
Nice try Whistler, but your credibility has hit an all time low and to keep repeating the same mischaracterization over and over again won’t make it right. But you just keep on digging.

What a bunch of hooey. You’re saying that I said little or nothing more when I should have said a little bit or nothing more I was misleading the readers.
I don’t see a bit of difference between the two.
I don’t see a little bit of difference between the two.
Nice try puzzled.
The Whistler - 02:05pm on 05/17/2008
There is a difference and you know it. It is not what the author said at all. You relied on a mischaracterization of the authors words to support your contention. You misused his words intentionally to get to the conclusion you wanted.

Kenney: NO WHERE in the U of Mo study does it say or suggest that 62% of the people think we should do little or nothing.
If you add the people who want to do a little more and the people who want to do nothing more and the people who want to do less, it comes to 62%. Thus, 62% want us to do little to nothing more about global warming. This has been explained repeatedly. You’re not a stupid person, so you’re just being deliberately thick.
I never indicated that the author meant “absolutely nothing at all.” It is Whistler who mischaraterized the study and reworded the language used by the author to suit his needs.
You continue repeatedly lying about what Whistler said, despite me pointing out that he said “a little bit more”. You’re being dishonest Puzzled. So how about giving him the apology he’s deserved?
Kenny - 03:05am on 05/18/2008
Kenny, using that logic, you could just as easily run the study the other way around.
“ONLY 13% OF AMERICANS WANT THE GOVERMENT TO DO MUCH LESS TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING!”
Indeed, that headline would be closer to the truth.
pparets - 06:05am on 05/18/2008
Wrong again, Kenny, you make the same erroneous argument that Whistler does, “do little to nothing”. That is not what the study says nor what the categories say as well.
No apology will be forthcoming since Whistler mischaracterized the study just as you do now.
Puzzlefeet - 07:05am on 05/18/2008
I’ve explained why what I said is the same as the study.
You keep saying I mischaracterized it without any explanation.
You’re a fool puzzle.
PParents the fact is that most people don’t want to do much more with global warming which contradicts what you said the public wants. You’re pathetic.
The Whistler - 08:05am on 05/18/2008
To put it another way all three candidates are saying that they want to do a LOT more to combat global warming. Certainly John McCain’s cap and trade scheme would fall in that category.
Only 38% of the people are in favor of that, the rest (62% are not).

DR. Konisky’s study gave respondents a range of choices regarding how much the government should do in combating global warming.
The first two questions allowed respondents to say A LOT MORE or A LITTLE BIT MORE.
The overwhelming majority of respondents [61%] chose one or the other of those two options.
A paltry 13% chose A LOT LESS.
By your parsing of his data, you created a false outcome that suited your inent.
