If he really said that (the video stopped short of whatever he said after the question and clarification), then it’s about time somebody had the cojones to call the execrable DemoRats out on their perfidy. Those clowns have been hijacking our country for 40+ years, and it’s time that they receive recognition for their success.

Are you kidding me? Get real Rob. Wasn’t there also a republican congress there during the 90s or is this more of your Clinton bashing. And I don’t believe I heard the word democrat come out of General Casey’s mouth. Even he knows better. Ahh too bad you don’t.

What a laughably obvious piece of propaganda. There were more cuts in that tape than in a goth kid’s leg. Of course, left out of the report was the fact that Casey said that 550,000 soldiers (where have we heard that number before?) isn’t enough to meet the demand, and that “the current demand for our forces exceeds the sustainable supply.” And you think this means game over? Mission Accomplished? You can’t really be this dense. This is an act, right? You’re just attracting hits for all of your ads, including the ones for anti-bush t-shirts, right? Please, God, tell me that’s the case.

Rumsfeld has put the Pentagon at the mercy of his ego, his Cold Warrior’s view of the world and his unrealistic confidence in technology to replace manpower. As a result, the U.S. Army finds itself severely undermanned - cut to 10 active divisions but asked by the administration to support a foreign policy that requires at least 12 or 14.
Only General Eric Shinseki, the army chief of staff when President George W. Bush was elected, had the courage to challenge the downsizing plans. So Rumsfeld retaliated by naming Shinseki’s successor more than a year before his scheduled retirement, effectively undercutting his authority. The rest of the senior brass got the message, and nobody has complained since.
If I remember correctly the Cut to 10 active divisions happened as Part of the wrangling that created the balanced budget in the 90’s. In fact my father was in the military at that tiime, and was fired (whatever it is the military actually calls it).

Why, the truth making you fell dirty. Go ahead, all you lefties keep telling the enemy to just hold on, your friends in the democrat Congress are working hard for you. We’ll take away the funding from this war that we were for before we were against it, and we’ll make those damn soldiers slink away from this fight with their tail between their legs by taking away their money. We’ve given you moral support by showing you that half of this country prefers appeasement and subservience to sticking up for itself...hell, we even helped you out by leaking classified info to the NYT to give you some heads-up and poison the well.
And Woof, your retarded links to leftist sites and opinion pieces just reinforces the idea that the vast majority of lefties have to be force-fed talking-points to operate. Weak.

PuzzledPerson… since Zsa Zsa is right, I suggest you back off the unnecessary snideness.
