A more sensible explanation is that conservatives are not “right-wingers”, and are actually those who support the founding principles of the United States, which were designed to produce a happier populace than one under the constant control of an intrusive govt.

A careful read of the cited article and the underlying survey demonstrate no causal relationship between the purported “conservative rationalization of social and economic inequalities” and the relative degree of “happiness” among both liberals and conservatives.

The only thing that is “pinpointed” is the judgmental predisposition of the author of the article, one Jeanna Bryner.

I don’t doubt that we conservatives are indeed happier than our liberal counterparts, but Ms. Bryner is nowhere close to explaining why.

We, the liberals, are also so unhappy that our party has created a successful business of hate-radio......because were just so terribly unhappy, and not bitter.  Doh, that was Limbaugh, Hannity, Laura Ingraham and all the rest.

That’s all I do.....be uhappy here in Hawaii, surfing, golfing, hiking, swimming and working.  Oh...my miserable life.

All this aside.  There is something to be said about ignorance being blissful.

We don’t buy hate or bitterness in the mass quantity your party does.  That’s why it failed.  Even though Franken tried to make it funny, it was really just complaining about our political opponents.  We don’t enjoy that.
