I can tell you that it’s unlikely that an eight year old would get hurt in a fight with their equipment on.
Mr Whislter… I don’t care if the boys were fully armored, getting hurt was not the issue of this wrong doing
As for being surprised at this happening...nah, what can we expect our kids to do when they witness adults doing it all the time. It’s socially ingrained as acceptable and it’s a very sad thing to watch evolve in our society.
