If Gandhi found Christians to be insufficiently Christ-like, I’m sure he would be even more unsympathetic toward those insufferably myopic leftists who don’t even bother to try, but sit in smarmy judgment of others’ religious beliefs… like you, for instance.
As it is, Mr. Gandhi is given a considerable amount of credit for events for which he was only modestly responsible. Had he been actively engaged against the Soviet Russians or the Communist Chinese, instead of the English, he would most likely have been shot in the back of the head and never heard from again.
Neither Gandhi’s protest, nor those later of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would have resulted in any substantive reforms at all, were it not for the Judeo-Christian consciences of the majority of citizens in England and the US respectively. Without those consciences, and governments that responded to the popular will of the people, the sacrifices of those two men and their followers would have meant little more than so many more dead bodies.
