…“She’s looking forward to serving the public outside the governor’s chair,” [Palin’s spokesman, David Murrow] said.

What? Applebees is hiring?

…“Many just accept that lame duck status, and they hit that road. They draw a paycheck. They kind of milk it. And I’m not going to put Alaskans through that,” [Palin] said.

What? Because she knows she will just be drawing a paycheck and milking Alaska?

…“Her vision is what’s best for Alaska, which translates into what’s best for America,” Stapleton [Palin’s personal spokeswoman] said.

What? Her not being Governor is better for Alaska and America?

…Palin remaining as governor is not good for Alaska, given the “political bloodsport” by her critics, Stapleton said. Stepping down is a “fighter’s move,” Stapleton said, essentially Palin stepping around political barriers in her way and pursuing her vision.

What? See above.

…The party’s troubles seem to have left two prominent 2012 prospects, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and 2008 presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, unscathed, however.

NEWTIE!!!!!  MITTENS!!!!!!

Palin has the potential to make far more money in the private sector than the $125,000 or so she has been making as governor.

Palin already had a deal with publisher HarperCollins to produce her memoirs, with publication planned for next spring. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Six-figure book deals are common for high-profile political figures.

Or there is something else

Or there is nothing else.

Treat them with humanity, and let them have no reason to complain of our copying the brutal example of the British Army in their treatment of our unfortunate brethren who have fallen into their hands.

If Mittens or Newt run, we’re boned.

Do you see anybody who has a decent chance in the GOP Bob?

That has a decent chance?

No.

But there is always DeMint, Thune, Pence, Huntsman…there are a few who talk a good game.

I am still trying to get over that Sanford, Ensign and now Palin are for all intents and purposes out of the running.

It’s gotta hurt the hard core gop down in a place that hasn’t been touched since Nixon resigned in disgrace.

Can you imagine the anti gop fallout if any of the negative rumors about her actually are true?

Too bad. We need two strong parties. Ever since 1980, the gop has been a joke.

Newt isn’t going to run, he won’t get enough votes during the primaries.
