People are having a cow over this but not the Quiznos commercials? In one version of the Quiznos spot, the talking toaster oven with a male voice says to the male sandwich flunky on duty, “put it in me Dave” in an obviously sensuous way. Pure homoeroticism.
The only way that gets a pass and a light white skinned blonde girl about to fellate a sandwich doesn’t is pure patriarchal patronization. Sorry to use feminist language, but it’s exactly true. It’s mostly men getting outraged as if it was their teen daughter.
Can we let this go already? It did its job. It got your attention. That was the whole point. They win. You lose. That’s how the advertising is supposed to work. When you don’t notice or care, then they lose.
You want one that would get everyone’s attention? Go SNL and have a J&J baby oil commercial with a young girl asking. “but daddy, where does baby oil come from?” and the father relates, “well, when babies won’t behave like your little brother, they go to the baby oil factory where they are wrung out like sponges to get every last drop of baby oil.”
“But I don’t have a little brother.”
“Not anymore.”

My wife says that if I tell that to our kids, she’ll strangle me. I don’t know why. My dad though that was hilarious when I was a kid.
