Young Iraqis Rejecting Islam?

Can you blame them? Considering how horribly so many of the religious types have acted in Iraq, it seems many young Iraqis are developing a healthy skepticism of Islam.

These kids have seen what al-Qaeda means up close and personal, and naturally they reject it. Perhaps they now even see Islam as unreformable.

Yeah, I had read this already and makes me think there’s still hope yet. Let’s thank GB for this.

I would like to believe this story has any relevance to the global Islamic threat we see today. I would like to believe there are many moderate, non-violent, peace loving Muslims; but it is a dangerous illusion, it is a deceptive aberration, these are but a few young war weary youth as we have seen before in Iran to no avail.

I know how tempting it is to look upon this as a positive development, but I tell you while this story may be factual, it is a sad illusion that will encourage further appeasement, further concessions and in the end the same results, unless we stay on the offensive.

When in Iraq and the Muslims are parading a dead, tortured America soldier, no matter how much these young people may hate it, they will be spitting on that body and yelling ‘Allah Akbar’ just like everyone else, because in a Muslim culture either conform or die. Historically, we find this to be true! Once Muslims become the dominant religion in any nation, persecution and death for bad Muslims and all infidels follow, then Sharia Law and all the time the so-called moderate Muslims are either participating in these crimes or supporting them somehow, or they will die.

Go ahead, jump on me for being negative and not wanting to see young people reject Islam and embrace a more westernized culture. But, to me this current war is not just Bin Laden, Al Queda, Hamas, Syria or Iamabadhandjob; this is a point in history wherein Islam has its greatest presence in the world and they need to destroy Israel, kill all the Jews and conquer the world for Allah so the Mahdi will come; and if these “few’ young people are not with the program they will die and their families will suffer.

To me to seriously entertain any hope based on a few young people or pretended moderate Muslims is a fatal mistake. My comments are not aimed at any particular person, but rather against the idea that there is hope here, as Islam is facing its greatest opportunity to conquer the world and we better not drop our guard.

I hear you Neiman, and to a degree I agree.  However, I keep going back to Iran and what their culture is becoming today without much western influence.  How the yutes (Think MY COUSIN VINNY) have turned away from the clerics.  How the young women risk so much to NOT wear what they are told to wear.

I still have a little faith that this war on ideas can be won without a flying bullet..

Now is the time to guard against extremist atheism while sending in the Christian missionaries. Fill in the void. People need religion. Offer them a better alternative.

All of ye who wish to forge into the future, abandon Islam!

atease: In this and my belief Obama is our next President, I hope I am wrong and everyone gets to call me and extremist and an alarmist!

Lik: I have no idea whether you are serious or not!
