Yikes! The Left’s Boycott Of Glenn Beck Isn’t Working Out So Well

I was curious just how the left’s attempt to drive Glenn Beck off the air by threatening his advertisers with a boycott, thus forcing Fox to drop him if those advertisers cut and ran, was working out for them.
Well, I have the answer, and it won’t make the left happy. Not only did Beck’s ratings not drop, he brutally beat the competion in yesterday’s ratings:

5PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
Glenn Beck– 3,040,000 viewers (888,000) (1,385,000)
Situation Room—688,000 viewers (141,000) (271,000)
Hardball w/ Chris Matthews—536,000 viewers (139,000) (217,000)
Fast Money—215,000 viewers (55,000) (80,000)
Prime News–267,000 viewers (97,000) (109,000)

Ouch. I’d like to say I feel for the left and their lapdog subsidiaries at MSNBC and CNN but, um, I don’t. Beck pounded them. Heh.
Oh, and here’s one more yummy tidbit from today’s ratings news: Fox as usual beat all their competitors handily but this is a telling stat:

8PM – P2+ (25-54) (35-64)
The O’Reilly Factor– 3,303,000 viewers (876,000) (1,468,000)
Teddy: In His Own Words- 1,104,000 viewers (293,000) (547,000)

Countdown w/ K. Olbermann– 1,091,000 viewers (320,000) (504,000)
Secrets of the Knight – 181,000 viewers (68,000) (95,000)
Nancy Grace – 757,000 viewers (239,000) (315,000)

O’Reilly’s regularly scheduled program beat out a special on Ted Kennedy by 3 to 1. The left’s villain, O’Reilly, and their much lauded hero, Ted Kennedy, squared off face to face. You’d think the sentimental advantage would go to the newly deceased Teddy, wouldn’t you? Didn’t happen.
That says much about the media’s over inflated popularity of the man – and for the media’s desperate hype.
Hey! Maybe they should go ahead and rename the health care package they’re trying to force on us “Kennedycare” like they’re talking of doing after all. Then we can kill two birds with one stone: get rid of the socialist health care deal when it completely collapses, and correct the notion that Kennedy was a hero to all folks everywhere.
Numbers don’t lie. But you can bet the left will ignore them.

Yikes! The Left’s Boycott Of Glenn Beck Isn’t Working Out So Well

And then there was much wailing, gnashing of team and of course delirium tremors from the leftards.

    WOOF, since you like music…

The funny thing is, there isn’t person on that list I would actually watch. Keith Olberman would be fun to pummel in a full-contact kickboxing match, but the rest of them aren’t interesting in any fashion.

Sorry I just have to cheer whenever the thought police megafail.

  • Bat One

So, “Teddy, In His Own Words” could barely muster enough viewers to beat out Olberman???

    That IS funny!

I thought the public spectacle of Michael Jackson’s death and funeral was mawkish and maudlin, but at least Jackson could claim to to be a truly talented and beloved artist. Kennedy was a dolt, a drunkard, a womanizer, an abuser, and, of course, a murderer. Nothing heroic there.

  • SigFan

Watched Beck while making dinner last night. I don’t catch him often as I’m usually busy at that time, but always enjoy his show when I do see it. Sooner or later the other networks will catch on that the majority of viewers want what Fox gives them and not what they have. It would be interesting to watch them try to do an about face and start becoming conservative after all these years. I’m pretty sure that no one would take them seriously and see it for just what it is, a play for ratings. It would be fun though to listen to the lefties howling about how they are losing their voice in the media.

Thre hasn’t been as much W2W coverage for Kennedy (like there was for MJ), but I figure more than a 2 minute notice and the already way underviewed special was more than he deserved.

You’re right Pilgrim, naming the bill for Kennedy just might be the stake through it’s heart we need.

The fact he makes 8th while broadcasting from a news channel is ‘effing amazing.

I don’t watch Beck myself, but I understand he’s on at 5 PM. Not exactly prime time for TV! That makes his ratings even more impressive.

  • Halatbis

Only in Congress, the American congress, are politicians measured by their public pronouncements of compassion for the poor and needy; it does not matter what kind of life they live. In the case of Liberal Left politicians—their “greatness” is the measured by what they say—not by what they actually do in their everyday living. That makes for “Giants” and “Lions” and “Lions of the Senate” and “Statesman” etc. etc.

  • carrick

    The Todd:

Glenn Beck finished in 7th out of 8th place to his actual competitors. He’s slipping… he needs to introduce some new characters or more people will turn to Top Chef.

The fact he makes 8th while broadcasting from a news channel is ‘effing amazing.

He’s an ‘effing political commentator, bone head. Fantasize if you must, it’s what libtards do.

  • Mark

Beck will be prime time soon. Move over Greta.

  • sayanything-7715

Mark , I think your right!

  • Bat One

When ya think about it, that’s one helluva a business plan. Get some far-left “revolutionaries” to call for a boycott and watch your business increase by nearly 50% in less than a month! That’s pretty impressive.

ABC and NBC refusal to air commercials against Obamacare is one reason why ratings are so low. Viewers want all the facts. Viewers are fast learning what ” Hope and Change” really means. Indulging Big Gov to take over our health care is NOT free. Indulging Big Gov to allow sub prime loans to individuals who would never be able to repay them was a house of cards. AND now we are reaping what our elected liberal leaders have given us. Why would anyone actually want Big Gov to tamper and take over our health care? Big Gov has already proven they can not be trusted. Look at Soc Sec, Medicare, Food stamps etc… Big Gov is like a spoiled child. The more we give them the more they want. Enough already!

  • TUNA

Pulling advertising from Beck has already had a profound impact on Wal-Mart–I am now “saving” money at Costco on Saturday, which, I am pleased to report, is a definite upgrade.

Beck is certainly giving Obama and his confederacy of dunces a wedgie, but most of their problems are of their own making. They simply overestimated their strength among normal people–a class they hold in fairly low esteem, by the way. Take the Ted Kennedy lovefest–God rest his soul–the guy couldn’t get elected dogcatcher anywhere but Massachusetts, yet he is praded about as a liberal icon–a lion. It’s OK to say that stuff, but quite another thing to believe it–sort of like hope and change.

  • badlands4

I am not surprised that the Senator Kennedy special wasn’t watched.

He isn’t a president, much of the population is too young, was not born yet, or are immigrants from countries where this wouldn’t have been as much publicity when the President and his brother were killed.

Plus, frankly, outside of the beltway, New England and some other places on each coast, he was a bit of a non entity, just another Senator.

Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, etc all rate a much stronger reaction than Senator Kennedy did.

It doesn’t mean disrespect for his life, or his death, but it isn’t important to people outside of the area he was from and the groups that revered him.

  • DINO

Isn’t it funny how Fox Business Network trails the other stations so much? Available in 49 million homes, it has an average viewership of 21,000. MSNBC and Bloomberg destroy FBN.

    FOX Business Gives Up

What does that say? It says that the people serious about their news don’t get it from FOX. They go to MSNBC or one of the other normal channels. The people who go to FOX are there for the daily dose of support for their sore loser bitterness and ignorance. To feed their anger and resentment.

  • robert108

Balkanization isn’t a solution to anything.

  • Mark

Its time to break up America into a good country and a liberal country. Then we will see who prospers and who fails miserably.

I’ve been saying the same thing for quite some time now.

The leftist part of the country would be broke in no time.

  • DINO

The right wing side of the country will kill each other over who has to pay the bills.

It’ll be one big Amway meeting where you spend all your time fucking each other out of money.

  • Mark

The right wing side of the country will kill each other over who has to pay the bills.

No the left side will kill each other for something to eat.

  • Mark

And we won’t send you any humanitarian aid, Dino.

  • TheTodd

Well, I have the answer, and it won’t make the left happy. Not only did Beck’s ratings not drop, he brutally beat the competion in yesterday’s ratings:

This is blatantly untrue. Actual ratings for Beck’s show and his competitors:

    1. Hell’s Kitchen: 7,489,000
    2. Big Brother 11: 6,748,000
    3. World Wrestling Entertainment RAW: 5,900,000
    4. Project Runway: 4,233,000
    5. Spongebob Squarepants: 4,014,000
    6. Family Guy: 3,220,00
    7. Glenn Beck: 3,040,000
    8. Top Chef: 2,592,000

  • tothestars2

Have been listening to Beck since 9/11. His show was on the radio the day the attack started and I have followed him and his show since. His is the voice that kept me informed that day, and how we should react after.I am an official, sick twisted freak fan, to the core.

if you are trying to prove just how little people care about liberals, well done. well done indeed.

  • wlegend14

Hey Dino…. it took you 24 posts to finally find something you could say to dispute the facts. Fact really is that Fox kicks the shit out of the rest of your liberal windbags. People don’t want to listen to it. You had to go quite a way down the list of successful Fox shows before you finally found one that a liberal show could beat. Congratulations. The 33rd ranked fox show finally lagged behind one of your socialistic programs. I bet Keith Olbermann is popular in Communist China though.

Oh wait, I stand corrected. Baby Stewey is a raging liberal, so I guess Family Guy being ahead of Glenn Beck could impose an argument for the left. However, Vince McMahon and WWE are conservative, so the Right still wins.

  • 2Hotel9

These leftarded morons do this all the time. Every single thing they post proves the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they claim. Blatant, willful ignorance, coupled to a consistent pattern of self-serving and self-destructive lying.

Mike Adamson is the only one who even approaches anything like balance or intelligence, and he wanders off into his Marxist/socialist fantasy world so often that he undermines what credibility he does have.

  • http://www.rabidamerican.net/ Rabid American

As they do Sarah Palin, the Marxists fear and loath him!

More over, they fear his words!

Worst of all, in their view, They fear us knowing what he publicizes!

God forbid these foolish Marxists physically go after Glenn, Rush, Michael, Mark, etc…… That will spark a fire they cannot control!

Keep your eyes and ears busy with this attempted coup!
    Keep your powder dry!

DO NOT LET THEM SILENCE THEIR VOICES!

Oh, theturd? Repeats of the initial broadcast in different time slots show the same strong numbers. How you going to explain that away, whiny lying cunt?

The ratings are high because Beck is pure entertainment. Period. http://www.newsy.com/videos/glenn_beck_does_he_help_or_hurt_america. That’s prob the only good he’s actually doing for America. I just hope people are able to tell entertainment from news and facts.

This video starts by asking the moronic question “Is Beck abusing his freedom of speech?”

    It’s left wing garbage.

  • docdave

kenny, attempts to discredit the opposition is one of the libs main strategies.

  • 2Hotel9

Good going Toad. You just pointed out that all the shows more popular than Beck aren’t in the political commentary and opinion genre at all, making his show the most popular of his genre.

    Way to go brainless.

  • sayanything-2483

It is very entertaining that Beck is uncovering and exposing the truth.
