Yet Another Reason To Consider The School Voucher System

A road crew in Seminole County, Florida - no doubt graduates of our public school system - gives us this ray of hope for the future of our country. The county is hustling to fix it now. Maybe it’s just me, but you’d think someone on that crew would have noticed this. But they didn’t. A local TV station reported on it and now it’s getting re-painted.

Thanks to Barking Moonbat for this one.

I am not a believer in the school voucher. I do beleive that help is needed in our Schools, they are in a terrible state. But, at first it sounds like a workable idea that would help the student to get into a better school and also put pressure on the public school systems to start making changes and maybe at the begining this is how it would start. I just do not believe that is how it will go down, at least in NJ.
Here is what I think will happen in NJ. My theory centers around the school system that my children attended in High School. Which was a Catholic school that had the Nuns and Priests in the school always pushing to have parents sign a petition that would be sent to the State Government representatives to start the voucher system. I was forever getting into this same discuss with them. It was always a lively discussion. In the Catholic high school that my children attended, it was not unusual to have 1 to 3 students kicked out each year because they failed to obey the rules. They reached the point of dismissal only after going through a step program to help them to stay in the School. After repeated failures would the student be given the boot. The majority of the offensive for dismissal from the school was more on their social behavior than on their academics (mostly smoking in school or leaving the school grounds during lunch). In NJ it would not take long for a parent of a student that was going to be dismissed from the school because of their refusal to obey the rules to start a lawsuit. Then one of the many NJ activist Judges will get a chance to put in their 2 cents. I can see the ruling saying that since Government money is now being used to pay the tuition and the School has set to high a standard for this student, they must now lower their standards to accommodate the student. Then once again the Government will have done its job. Lower standards instead of raising them and getting a chance to start controlling the private school systems.

Now ... Mr. Pilgrim, who is to say the person responsible for this error was a participant of a non-voucher system?
wink

I’d say he’s playing the odds on this one! smile

A troll is someone who only wants to stir up trouble, not have an honest debate.  Some signs that a poster is a troll:
* Dodges questions from other posters * Refuses to give sources
* When one of its arguments is shown to be false, either ignores the proof or moves the goalposts.  Heh. (From the LGF faq)

That’s good stuff.  Reminds me of the “Need a break” Snickers commercial at Arrowhead stadium.
