Woman Who Called Hillary A “Monster” Is Working For Obama Again

Nice to know that her firing was just symbolic.

Samantha Power, the foreign-policy scholar who was banished from the Obama campaign for referring to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) as a “monster” during the Democratic primaries, is working on President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team studying State Department personnel, operations and policy.
That’s potentially a little awkward because Clinton is scheduled to be designated Obama’s secretary of state early next week.

I didn’t really have much of a take on Powers’ firing in the first place, but it seems to me that Obama’s guilty of a bit of dishonesty here. During his campaign he told voters with his actions that Powers’ comments were an offense worthy of firing. With her re-hire, he shows us his gesture was symbolic and aimed at misleading the public.
In short, not the sort of thing a hope ‘n change candidate is supposed to do.

I wonder if this will influence her decision to take the Sec State job??

Unless the SCOTUS rules against nObama, Hillary knows the S of S job is as high as she will go and power means everything to her. She isn’t going to care about some ‘underlings’ comments in the heat of an election.

Just wait until Americans (particularily the 78% of Jewish Americans who voted for the incoming President) find out that Samanatha Powers believes the US should invade Israel to end genocide in Palestine.

Assuming what you are writing is true (about Samantha Powers views on Israel) what will the 78% Jewish Americans going to do? Topple the US government through a coup, or take arms and revolt?
Syn. This is a task for you. Go ahead and inform the Americans and the 78% of Jewish Americans of her views. Let’s see what is going to happen. I am curious. Are you?

  • ellinas

He fired her from the campaign. The campaign is over.
He is president elect now. He elected to give her a President elect pardon for her prior misbehaviour.

At least he doesn’t harness talents like Bill the philanderer.

Nothing wrong with what Bill did. That horny old fart! Maybe Hillary was not giving him any blow jobs, or having sex on a regular basis.

Now Michelle looks like a woman that can keep her man happy.
    But you never know.

Maybe! But, despite my dislike for Obama and his views of the world, I had no problem with using Nixon as a foreign ploicy advisor for several presidents. Disgraced or not, there was no one one the world stage that knew more about foreign policy than Nixon. So, Obama may still not care for this lady personally, but for some reason trusts her views sufficiently to use her to help during the transition. Now after his becoming POTUS and Lord I even hate the sound of President Obama, if he hires her permanently for an important state department post, that is a different matter!

Yea, hate to tell you this…Bush didn’t run as a fiscal conservative.

Did you think and type the above all by yourself?
All politicians do the same shit. this is not restricted to Obama. Witness what all the Repubs/Cons/Neocons who ran as fiscal/small govt adherents, did after election to office. How soon you forget? No shame in their game.

I think Hill should kick her ass. I know I’d watch!

Matt Chase. The 78% of Jews that voted for the Democratic ticket , did vote for their own self interest, and not your.
    Isn’t Democracy great?

    Ellinas:

I don’t disagree with you on the Republicans who failed to govern as fiscal conservatives. There’s a lot of cowardice in the Republican party. I’m still angry at the GOP for backing down to Clinton during the “government shutdown.” I’m disgusted with the Republicans settling for wimpy tax cuts rather than fighting to replace the income tax with a flat tax or consumption tax. I’m Disgusted with Bush for signing on to an expensive new entitlement.

    Politicians are generally dishonest.

Having said that, I still believe that The One is extraordinarily amoral and deceitful, even by the low standards set by politicians.

Wow, so basically it sounds like NOBAMA is about flash and nto substance. If she was fired she should have stayed fired.

If you say so. Time will tell.

this is just one more piece of evidence that the great liberal Messiah is in fact an amoral manipulator who’s values are defined by what is politically convenient at the moment.

If Hillary gets the SoS job, Samantha Power better watch her own back. The hillbilly mafia is ready and willing at a moments notice.

Speaking as one of the 22% of Jews who most assuredly did NOT vote for the Obamessiah, I don’t know what to make of my co-religionists who did. It’s like talking to a collective brick wall. They truly were more afraid of a Sarah Palin (huh?) possible presidency than of B. Hussein Obama.

Freakin’ unbelievable. They (a) still are loyal to the Dems because they think they are voting still for FDR, (b) think FDR and the New Deal was good for America, even in 20/20 hindsight, (c) refuse – all evidence to the contrary notwithstanding – to accept that W is the best US president vis-a-vis Israel ever, and (d) are generally more prone to vote their liberal hearts over their own self-interest.

    Sad.

Kind of shows how he really feels about Hillary.

Come on guys, we all know Democrats are very forgiving, tolerant and virtuous people.

    Ellinas,

Unfortunately Powers views are very well known, I have seen a couple of video clips where she was very anti-Israel. If I were Jewish, I’d be concerned, hopefully her views won’t be allowed to flourish, but Obama hasn’t given the Jewish community who have paid attention much reason to feel comfortable. The problem is that people aren’t informed. That’s not a good thing, Ellinas, there are a lot of people who vote Dem, who are older or not informed who don’t realize that the party has changed dramatically. They might still vote D, but I think most would become Indep. if they knew the truth. Same goes for the people who the media failed to inform on Obama’s policies regarding abortion. They might still have voted for him, that’s their right, but it is a shame that people who are practicing Catholics weren’t given the choice. I have talked to about 10 friends who are devout Catholics, and 7 of them voted for Obama. I pulled up Obama’s voting record and transcript on his Senate hearing involving the BAPA, and they were shocked. So, it is not fair to the American people what has been done. some people just trust everything they hear on the news, and read in the newspapers. They are busy, not really intersted in politics, have always trusted the media, so they just think everything has stayed the same.
