Woman Gets A House At Barack Obama Rally

How special:

Henrietta Hughes was offered a home by Chene Thompson, wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, who heard the homeless woman’s pleas for help to President Obama before a local and national crowd.
The house is in LaBelle, the first home [Chene] Thompson bought after law school. She told Hughes, “Just give me the opportunity to help you.”
Hughes broke down in front of thousands when she told the president that she and her son have been homeless for more than a year. They are living in a pickup truck.
Obama hugged her after she asked her question and said his staff would help. A staffer later gave her a card to the head of the housing authority and she was told he would help her.

Here’s the video, which includes another woman mouthing “I love you Obama” while apparently in some sort of a trance:

Now, I know the impulse is for everyone to be happy that this homeless woman who now has a home has been helped. But has she really been helped? Has anyone bothered to ask why she was homeless? And how she’s going to afford the upkeep on this new home? Not to mention the utilities? Taxes? Payments, if any?
I think this illustrates a basic liberal fallacy (shared by a lot of Republicans too, unfortunately), which is that you can help people by giving them things. Which is totally bogus. That’s exactly the reasoning that lead us into the housing collapse.
Politicians felt that by using government pressure and regulation and subsidy to make homes attainable for those who wouldn’t normally have been able to afford them they’d make better citizens out of those people. Because home owners tend to be responsible, upstanding citizens. But the truth is that owning a home is the result of responsible citizenship. Not the cause. Meaning that if you just give a home to someone who hasn’t earned it you haven’t helped them. You’ve just burdened them with something they didn’t have because they couldn’t afford it.
Unless they’re planning on paying her bills for her in perpetuity (and they might be doing just that) Obama and his liberal buddies did this woman a disservice, not a favor, even if Mrs. Hughes hasn’t realized it yet.

Maybe this whole thing was staged?

Remember when there was a lot of fainting women at Obama speeches before the elections?

    Very suspicious…

I’m not saying the woman is not really poor or really homeless, I’m saying maybe she was selected and this whole thing was staged.

You know kind of like when some “preacher” or
” guru” cures someone on stage in a stadium?

I’m not kidding I think this thing could have been staged, this is not “beneath” the Obama administration…

I want a house. A free house, not one that I have to pay for, like now. And a pony.

Question: Why should productive people remain productive if they look around and folks are getting things for free that they’ve had to work hard for?

  • bill-tb

Hey, now how is she going to pay the gift taxes, the property taxes, the upkeep and maintenance? Simple, get a mortgage, bail on the mortgage, let the bank have the house, take the money and run.

Democrats are simple organism, screwing people is easy, once you get the hang of it.

CRA for all, who says you can’t own your dream, at least for a while, just until …

I saw Rob on his show today. His demeanor, his anger that came through really explains a lot.

It certainly explains that piece of crap I just copied and pasted.

Very well put, Rob. Unfortunately, those who have emotional knee jerk reactions can't understand the concept.

it might be staged but that doesnt make it any better

besides i want my free house my 100 million dollars and a unicorn and free car and another 100 million dollars as well

seriously i ask myself almost daily why i still work when there is welfare and slack ass liberals ironically mostly black on welfare who come in with EBT WIC and unemployment benefits. i cry daily.

oh yes i cry daily at my community service for being honest with a cop and not having a gun in my glove compartment. i really fucking hate liberals.

obama helped that woman. a house is better than living in a car.and they have places to help you wuth bills .trust me i know. i am 14 and was homeless for 5 years. the only reason im not homeless is because i was taken away from my mom. if someone gave my mom that i would happily be with her. so dont hate on homeless. really!!!!
