Will The Global Warming Nuts Please Just Go Away Now.

Robert108 has a post up about the scientific progress of measuring the temperatures of the oceans.

In fact, 80 percent to 90 percent of global warming involves heating up ocean waters. They hold much more heat than the atmosphere can. So Willis has been studying the ocean with a fleet of robotic instruments called the Argo system. The buoys can dive 3,000 feet down and measure ocean temperature. Since the system was fully deployed in 2003, it has recorded no warming of the global oceans. “There has been a very slight cooling...”

The global climate depends on the total amount of heat retained by the Earth and not radiated into space.  The sun shines on Earth the Earth reflects that energy out into space to achieve somewhat of a balance.
Skeptics of man-caused global warming are aware that the Earth has been warming and cooling for it’s own reasons ever since the Earth was formed.

But what do global warming proponents believe?  They believe that mankind is in effect wrapping the Earth in another layer of insulation.  In order to shed this heat the Earth needs to warm up to achieve a new balance.

Global warming activists have been using local heat waves or even a hot day to advance their agenda.  Of course that’s baloney.  It can be warmer here in North Dakota in July and cooler in New England to balance out the total heat energy that is on Earth.  If it totals more we have a warming trend or if the total is lower we have a cooling trend.  To be honest we skeptics have been known to point out cold weather trends to poke fun of the other side.  Mostly it’s fun to make fun of Al Gore showing up in a blizzard to hghlight the global warming problem.

Skeptics of man-caused global warming are aware that one warm year or one cold year doesn’t mean much.  The Earth does that.  In fact it sometimes warms for years and cools for years.  We’re go pretty good data that the Earth has been warming up from the Little Ice Age for over 150 years in fact.

However remember global warming activists believe something a bit different.  They believe they’ve got proof that man has wrapped the Earth in that layer of insulation.  So where is the heat.  It must be there.  But we know it’s not over the water and now we know that it’s not under the water.  If the heat’s not there that means their models are just plain wrong.  Certainly their models didn’t come close to predicting what we are now experiencing.

It certainly seems that the subject deserves more study, and no longer should the grants go to those advancing only the theory that we’re doomed to wind up in a global sauna.  One thing we definitely don’t want to do is destroy our economy (or the economies of developing nations) for a theory that’s full of holes.

It’s time for John McCain to realize he was sold a bill of goods on this issue and retract his plan to torpedo our children’s economy.

OK, for the knuckleheads. Don’t toddle into this thread and screech&wail endlessly. Do some research first. Oh, and forget all that lying assed crap Algore:The Goreacle told you. He is only concerned with stealing your money, he does not give a green crap about “the planet”.

And admit he was wrong?

Good luck with that!

You know, the part of this whole global warming thing that bothers me that most is this...we’ve been industrial for such a short, short time.  In the grand scheme of things we are SO insignificant, so tiny compared to this planet and universe.  It is one HUGELY egotistical person (like al gore) that thinks we have made a slight dent in the ecosystem.  I absolutely think we need to do our best to keep things in our little atmosphere in good shape, but to overreact is asinine.  Look at the biofuel thing...what next, “hey, we have all this extra oxygen, how can we use it as fuel in a process that converts it to nitrogen?” No air...it’s almost like using food for fuel, albeit a s-t-r-e-t-c-h smile

Heat is energy, cold is the absence of energy; which would you rather have?

Hell Goron’s carbon foot print is huge, he should not lecture people on the enviornment.

The gullible warming crowd is not going to let a little thing like the truth get in the way. They have an agenda after all and it is not saving the planet. A cooling trend is not a cooling trend - it is a “not warming as fast” trend. I believe in one of the articles I read about the Argo system they said they thought the missing heat might have gone lower in the ocean. Never mind that heat rising thing. And they say I am in denial.

Good piece. The facts seem to be lost on the global warming cultists. Oops! Wait! I said “fact”. That’s the “F” word for libs.

Naughty me.

The global warming crowd will not go away.  They will just start calling it global climate change, which they already have begun doing, and say that people are causing the climate to change.  Next thing we know human produced CO2 will cause the temperatures to go down.  It’s all a lie.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Here’s what one MSUM pointy head, Phil Mouch, posted on his blog.

So, with only five days left in the month of April, we’re under a winter storm warning. Not too far south of here, there’s a blizzard. So it seems that we’re not quite done with winter just yet. Luckily, we weren’t trying to drive anywhere this weekend.

As a result I can look forward to a few idiots who don’t know the difference between climate and weather writing in to the paper to suggest that there is no global warming.

Doug, I hate to have to burst their bubble(actually I LOVE doing it) but the “environment” is not a static system. It is in constant change, and nothing they can imagine or conceive will change that. And THAT is what pisses them off. The absolute proof that they are totally and completely irrelevantly, that they can affect nothing, do nothing of any significance whatsoever. That when they are dead they will be laughed at and then promptly forgotten makes them so angry that they will grasp any straw, no matter how ephemeral, to make themselves “feel” important.

Truly sad and pathetic.
