Why We Could Probably Shorten The Entire Election Cycle By About A Year

For some of us (“us” meaning those who live and breath politics and are paying attention even when there’s not an impending Presidential election) this election cycle started about two years ago. And if during all that time it seems as though everything has started to kind of sound the same, that’s because it has.

THE TAX POLICY THAT COULD HAVE WON MCCAIN THE ELECTION:

One thing McCain is NOT good at – political judo – using an opponents strengths against him.

When Obama announced his $500 tax cut for 95% of all Americans, McCain should have countered that 40% of all Americans do not pay taxes and therefore it is not a tax cut, but a welfare check.

He should have said, “therefore, my campaign will be offering an $800 tax cut to everyone making under $250,000 a year who ACTUALLY PAY TAXES”.

“You see folks, that’s the difference between a capitalist and a socialist. A socialist wants to spread the wealth around, a capitalist wants to let you keep more of your own money…”

    CONCLUSION:
This one simple policy would have won the election for McCain. It is a shame that we have had such a weak candidate carrying our colors in this vital campaign.

HAHA!! That is hilarious….. the timing and tempo is so rehearsed… If Obama had taken McCain up on those Lincoln-Douglas debates through the summer, we would have had a lot of to deal with of substance than we do now. More debates are needed in a campaign. More debates with less emphasis on each one, it will result in less scripting and more revelation into what a candidate really thinks. And yes, I think the first primaries should be held in May or June so the whole season is shorter. Then have a debate every week between all candidates polling over 5%, or 10 or something, from the beginning of August through election day! That would be good political theatre! But hey, what do I know…

Last night Tom Brokaw was on Charlie Rose’s show. You should have heard them questioning each other about who Obama is and what Obama stands for. These to pillars of drive by journalism told each other that they had no idea what Obma’s views really were. And these are tow of his strongest media supporters… Whaz up wit dat?

Here’s a hint Charlie and Tom…. send some reporters to ask him.

But according with the results, not even telling him this on time, he could be able to do it in a year. He had to learn a lesson the hard way.

Actually, it’s not too late for McCain to propose this. Unfortunately, there is NO WAY to get the idea to him in time.
