Why The President Should Veto The Transportation Bill

Because it contains beauties like this one:

$223 million to build a bridge nearly as long as the Golden Gate and higher than the Brooklyn Bridge, to connect the town of Ketchikan (population 8,900) to the city airport on Gravina Island (population 50). Currently, the link is provided by a 10-minute ferry ride that has worked for years

That just just one of several senseless projects in Alaska priced out in the hundreds of millions of tax dollars, all for a state where, instead of paying a sales tax, citizens get money back from the government.

I was born in Alaska. I've been to Ketchikan and Gravina Island. They don't need this bridge.

If the President is ever going to use his veto, now would be a good time.
