If you were looking at a Google ad, they are placed according to the content being discussed, not which side the comments favor.
Ad revenue only accrues if you click on the ad. If one wanted to make an argument as ridiculous as dannyboy’s, one could just as easily argue that Al Gore is hypocritically advertising on conservative blogs...at no charge!
