Why Is The Federal Government Raiding Organic Farmers With SWAT Teams?

And who knew the FDA/USDA had SWAT teams?

Jeffrey Carter attended a screening of Farmageddon, a documentary about the fight of organic dairy farmers against big government who doesn’t think their product is safe for the public.

This documentary illustrates the plight of the organic farmer, specifically the organic dairy farmer. If a dairy farmer wants to sell raw milk, they will be run out of business and many times imprisoned by the federal bureaucracy. The USDA actively tries to run Raw Milk Producers out of the business. They work closely with agents from state agricultural agencies.

The documentary shows film of agents descending on various organic farms and outlets, guns drawn, SWAT teams present. It’s straight out of science fiction and something that you can’t believe happens in America. I can understand a huge police presence when going after a drug lord, but a family farmer? Sure, farmers keep guns but in my experience they aren’t violent people.

There is a controversy raging over raw milk. The FDA says it’s bad for you and is using the long arm of the government to put them out of business and keep you from getting it. Combine the FDA/USDA brutality with the typical bureaucratic revolving door, and you have the seeds planted for a conspiracy theory.

Keep in mind that the federal government’s position, per filings by Obama’s Justice Department in a case against organic dairy farmers, is that Americans “do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish.” It doesn’t matter if you raw milk producers are marketing their product transparently, it doesn’t matter if raw milk customers know the risks associated with the food and choose it any way, the government can stop you from obtaining that food if they wish.

It doesn’t even take an act of congress. Your elected representatives need not pass a law. It can all be done by regulatory fiat, and enforced at the point of a gun.

Which kind of makes you wonder if we’re living in a democratic republic or a monarchy.

Yet another glaring example of a government that is out of control and further proof that the US media is not reporting the news.  If they were, Americans would be up in arms over these ludicrous, heavy handed tactics.

  • Bat One

The use of heavily armed SWAT teams is probably meant to get the public accustomed to such tactics, so that when they come for our IRAs and 401-Ks and other investment accounts, instead of for raw milk and kiddie lemonade, the public will be less startled, less outraged, and most importantly, less likely to resist.

  • mikemc1970

The SWAT teams are necessary, because every Liberal knows the majority of farms are run by white men and according to Homeland Security commercials all terrorists are white men. Especially the ultra violent Amish dairy farmers.

  • Camsaure

Drank a lot of raw milk while growing up, didn’t ever hurt me one bit. I always thought the left was all for organic.

I drank more raw than ‘store-bought’ milk growing up courtesy of my Grandpa’s Holsteins.
      And the cream !

I remember eating cream and (my Grandma’s homemade) bread and thinking, “I wonder what the poor folks are having for supper tonight?”

    Conspiracy Theory!!!  (tinfoil hat)

the federal government has been lacing brainwashing/mind control drugs into milk for years, especially what the kids are drinking in school. They want to put a stop to organic milk they can’t control for fear the populace will wake up

“Why Is The Federal Government Raiding Organic Farmers With SWAT Teams?”  Because they know they wont get shot, unlike with real criminals. USDA is filled with incompetent cowards, same as EPA and IRS.

    - 2001, March 23. Forty armed federal agents and USDA officials storm
Three Shepherd’s Farm (Vermont), and confiscate and destroy the farm’s
entire flock of sheep for supposedly having mad cow disease.
Government laboratories verify previously that the sheep are healthy,
and that sheep cannot even contract the disease, but the USDA persists
in eliminating them anyway, destroying evidence and breaking various
other laws along the way (http://www.threeshepherdscheese.com…).

Well, this story kind of fits in with my current assessment of SWAT teams having been largely de-fanged by various levels of our bureaucratic and political rulers.

To wit, last week in San Rafael, California, across the Golden Gate from San Francisco, the local authorities called out the local SWAT team because some goofball criminal barricaded himself in a motel room with his purported girlfriend and then fired one shot at a nearby highway which was a main feeder route to a cross-bay bridge. The authorities, in what, no doubt, was good thinking to them, closed down the highway for a day and a half while they “negotiated” with the idiot.

So, for all the taxpayers’ investments in the SWAT bureaucracy, what they get is the added benefit of having their rights to travel and to do their commerce suspended while the SWAT team practices it’s ability to establish a perimeter and not hurt themselves or anyway else. Priceless.

Maybe those Weapons and Tactics just ain’t all that Special anymore.

  • Udder Nonsense

Just for your information from an old guy, me, I was raised on a family farm back in the 50’s and 60’s, they all were family farms then, and we had a grade A dairy.  We all drank raw milk and that was typical, common practice and no one ever said anything about it.  It was known to be a good Raw food.  Raw milk tastes way better than pasteurized and no one ever got sick from it.

I am retired in my 60’s now and and have had very few colds, flew, etc.  I also have a University degree in Physics, so my IQ didn’t get lowered by drinking Raw milk, either.

This crap about the dangers of drinking raw milk is just that.  It is not a reason, but just another lame excuse cover story for big business to make sure no independent family farms ever get a foot hold on the market.  The puppet master big corporations could loss control if that happened.

This SWAT team NAZI attitude by our gangster government must be stopped.

    God Bless All.

That is all I have to say.

Four year ago tomorrow my husband and I were awaked by the SWAT team at 5:00 am.  Please know that after 8 months on our place, the tests came back from Ames, Iowa that our animals did NOT have psuedo-rabies as they asserted for their reason to “eradicate” our hogs.  We are still trying to hold onto our home and property.  My husband lives in ND working and I am living in VA taking care of the farm.  I only saw him 7 weeks last year.  Google “Boar War” by Lisa Provence of the “Hook”. It will tell our story.

I smell a fire-fight coming. Good thing I was trained by the U.S government. . To fight the government. Why couldn’t I have peacefully lived to old age?
