White House: We Have Victory In Iraq

After five years of “mission accomplished” nonsense from the left (it never meant what they want you think it did, but the truth has now been lost in a mountain of partisan rhetoric) this is probably as close as we’re ever going to get to a declaration of victory in Iraq from a person in a position of power.

But I’ll take it, because there is no doubt that we have won.  The terrorists are defeated.  The Iraqis are in control of their own destiny.  Outside of a few details that are yet to be hammered out, the mission is completed.  The truly sad part is that we’ll never have a true “moment of victory” in Iraq.  It won’t be because we didn’t actually win (which is what the left will claim) but because the powers that be on the left and in the media prematurely declared a loss, and they don’t want to look stupid.
