If the goals were economic stagnation, a permanently elevated unemployment rate and an exploded national debt, then yeah.

“We’ve said repeatedly that we don’t want to relitigate the battles of the past,” says Carney when questioned about figured released by the Obama administration indicating we’d be at 7% unemployment at this point if the spending passed.

Or, in other words, “shut up.”

Here’s a chart released by the Obama administration indicating their assumptions about the unemployment rate if the stimulus passed updated with what has actually happened:

Mission accomplished, I guess.
