When The Fox Guards The Chickens: NBC AND MSNBC Join The Left For “Voter Protection”

Hey, I trust them. Don’t you?

With less than 14 days before Election Day, NBC News and Election Protection will be joining forces to help voters ensure that their vote will count. The news leader and the nation’s largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition will work together to promote the 1-866-OUR-VOTE Hotline and www.866ourvote.org website so that voters can receive live assistance if they encounter problems, and access the information before they head to the polls now through Election Day.
Election Protection is the nation’s largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, led by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.

Hmmmm. Sounds good. Very noble. But, just what composes Election Protection, the group that those two fair and balanced organizations have so gallantly allied themselves with to protect your vote?
Townhall columnist Amanda Carpenter does a nice rundown on it:

Most of the groups MSNBC wants their viewers to contact and shape their news coverage on Election Day have extreme liberal agendas ranging and focus on variety of issues including housing, gay rights, amnesty, environmental policies and labor.
The National Council of La Raza, U.S. Pirg, NAACP, the Human Rights Campaign, the National Gay and Lesbian Law Association, Sierra Club and the Service Employees International Union are among Election Protection’s many partners.
ACORN is not listed as a partner on the Election Protection’s main website, but is listed as a partner on a promotional flyer that is available on the website.

Oh, good. La Raza. NAACP. Sierra Club. Just a tad more to the left and the American Communist Party as well as Anarchists ‘R’ Us would be included. And, lurking in the shadows, is that ever so trustworthy organization ACORN. The group ducked Townhall’s question about that little bit of election incest:

When asked for comment about ACORN’s role in the project MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines wrote Townhall in an email “this a question for them, not us.”

I don’t know about all of you, but I feel so much better now that I know those impartial journalistic watchdogs at NBC and MSNBC are on the job. Sleep well, America. They have our backs.
Fox, meet chickens.
