When All You’ve Got Is Knee-Jerk Opposition Ideas Come Hard

Why is it that when I see headlines like this…

...I get the idea that the Dems are just waiting for the President to make another policy announcement on Iraq so that they can oppose it?

I mean, they’re pretty much done crapping all over the surge policy.  The non-binding, symbolic, mean-nothing resolution opposing it passed in the House but failed miserably in the Senate.  Their plans to cut off funding have fizzled as it’s met opposition from within their own party.  So now it’s like they’re in a holding pattern, just waiting for the President to announce something else about Iraq so they can immediately be opposed to him.

A pretty sorry spectacle, if you ask me.

It would be funny if the president would put out a press release that stated, “The sky over Iraq is blue.” Unfortunately, it is no longer absurd to think the dems would respond with, “No it isn’t.  It’s more of an azure with a tinge of purple.” You know, nuance.
