Weather Channel Founder: Let’s Put Global Warming On Trial

Not a bad idea, I think, from Weather Channel founder John Coleman.

Coleman also told the audience his strategy for exposing what he called “the fraud of global warming.” He advocated suing those who sell carbon credits, which would force global warming alarmists to give a more honest account of the policies they propose.

“[I] have a feeling this is the opening,” Coleman said. “If the lawyers will take the case – sue the people who sell carbon credits. That includes Al Gore. That lawsuit would get so much publicity, so much media attention. And as the experts went to the media stand to testify, I feel like that could become the vehicle to finally put some light on the fraud of global warming.”

Seeing some of global warming alarmism’s most ardent and zealous proponents have to explain their beliefs in a courtroom setting would be delicious.

I always felt from the beginning that AGW was a big money grab.

If you can identify the damage, and tie the suffer to said damage, then tie that to a big number, they will come--the lawyers, that is; so, why not sue?  Sometimes it’s good to live in a country that has more lawyers than it needs--it’s how we get sued for making our coffee hot, our highly taxed cigarettes with tobacco and so on.

Man is a credulous animal, and must believe something.  In the absence of good grouds for belief, he will be satisfied with bad ones.  I believe Al Gore said that.

At WLS, Coleman was teamed with Fahey Flynn, Joel Daly and Bill Frink to form the Eyewitness News Team, creating a news brand name and establishing a highly successful new local news format dubbed “happy talk” by a local television columnist. This style of local news has been widely copied. The team dominated Chicago television news ratings for more than a decade. During his time at Chicago’s WLS-TV, Coleman was one of Chicago’s most popular meteorologists, famous for his amusing and irreverent style.

Yeah, you can thank John Coleman in part for those fluffy, bubbleheaded local newscasts that are so common now.

Coleman was a lot of fun to watch though!

I remember his newscasts for always being wrong.

I am glad someone is standing up to Al Gore and his hoax.  My brother showed me the page with the relocated temperature sensors put near heat exchangers.

Ken:

I remember his newscasts for always being wrong.

That’s because of the sucky numerical weather models.  Not his fault.

Probably has to do with his learned distrust of those models as a basis for predicting climate though.

Glenn Beck was in attendance and spoke about this on his show today.  He had Lord something or other on his show.  Lord ??? was part of the lawsuit in England to force their schools to offer an alternative to Gore’s version of climate change in the class rooms.  Lord ??? was also part of the folks that forced NASA to “adjust” their chart on which year was the coldest.

Anyway, he said that for 2 million dollars, the same team could fight this in the US and win due to the mistakes Gore made in his “movie”.  Science trumps fear.

It was an interesting interview by Beck.  Very interesting.

The weather forecasts of the last 80 hours in the northeast show that climatologists and meteorologists do not have the faintest idea what they are talking about. Period.

2hotel9:  It is climatologists who are saying that global warming is a HOAX! They may get the weather wrong, but they know a LIE when they see it!

"Here lies, in honored glory, an American soldier, known but to God.”

The stakes are high. Whether the issue is the economy, or energy, or the federal courts or national security, the right answers are coming not from the Democrats, but from the Republicans. The surge of operations that began a year ago is succeeding. The only way to lose this fight is to quit. Richard M. Cheney, Vice President, 30 May, 2008

No, just some are. The rest are hedging to protect their grant money. Meteorologists are simply pandering.

The forecast for Thursday here in Fargo is seventeen BELOW ZERO! Spring starts in sixteen days.
Global WHAT??????

My graduate school climatology professor avoided discussion of Anthropogenic Global Warming for most of the semester. In the last few minutes of the last class, he briefly spoke on the subject, stating his opinion that the Earth was warming because of natural causes, and will begin cooling in a few years to a decade for the same reason.

What I love about the AGW Hypothesis is that it basically boils down a a doctrine of infallibility for environmentalists.

Hot summer....blame global warming

Cold winter...blame global warming

Too many hurricanes...blame global warming

Fewer then expected hurricanes...blame global warming

Drought...blame global warming

Flooding...blame global warming

Onset of ice age...blame global warming

All sorts of wierd diseases showing up in emergency rooms in California and Arizona....forget illegal immigration and blame global warming.

There is simply no phenomena that cannot be given as proof of global warming.

The neighbor’s dog left a mess in my front yard this morning. I went to complain to him about it and he said it was caused by global warming.

Bet my grandmother’s gout is caused by global warming!  =)
