We Knew Heidi Heitkamp Was Going To Campaign As A Republican, But This Is Ridiculous

Last week North Dakota’s most biased reporter, no doubt writing a story pitched to her by Democrats, complained that a Chamber of Commerce ad supporting Rick Berg for Senate was wrong because his likely Democrat opponent, Heidi Heitkamp, supported the Keystone XL pipeline too. Now the Democrats are playing off the narrative the reporter’s article created (funny how that works, it almost seems…cooperative).

The Heitkamp campaign has released this video making it seem like Heidi Heitkamp…wants to be Rick Berg or something?

So the message is that Heidi Heitkamp is just like Rick Berg. Great. So why wouldn’t we just elect the real Rick Berg, as opposed to a liberal Democrat with a history of siding with President Obama over North Dakotans?

Again, Heidi Heitkamp wants to come off to North Dakota voters like a Republican. Even members of her own party have been critical of that. And it’s understandable. If Heitkamp campaigned as the true-blue liberal Democrat she is she couldn’t win election in this state.

But this…is just plain bizarre. Especially in the context of Heitkamp avoiding issues like health care, the national debt and the economy (something the media has so far let her get away with).

In 2009 Heidi Heitkamp was on stage pumping her fist in the air in support of Obamacare to a far-left crowd of SEIU activists. Now she’s wants us to believe she’s more of a Republican than a Republican.

Weird.
