Waxman Objecting To His 300 Page Amendment Being Read Before Voted On

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Overnight, House Democrats tacked onto the bill a 300-page amendment. So when Boehner took his time to speak against the package at the end of the debate, the Ohio Republican then decided to peel through major portions of the bill and read them aloud before his House colleagues.
Historically, rank-and-file lawmakers are only given a few minutes to speak on the House floor. But the Speaker, Majority Leader and Minority Leader are given great latitude to speak when they approach the microphones.
After Boehner spoke for a few minutes, the leader donned a pair of reading glasses and began leafing through a gigantic, white binder. At that point, House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) asked the chair if Boehner could do that.
ā€œI know we have this magic minute that gives leaders a lot of extra time to speak. But I’m just wondering if there is some limit under the rules on the time that a leader may take, even though the time yielded was not 20 or 30 minutes?ā€ Waxman asked.

Typical Democrat scumbaggery. Democracry is useless when people like this will vote on something when they have no idea what’s in it.

BTW, all American supported the Patriot Act, since we had just been attacked by the Islamofascists Clinton had enabled to gain power during his administration; it wasn’t just the Jews(neocons, for the ignorant bigots).

Wanna make a law? Make it a damn law that any bill signed by a legislator needs to be read in full by the fool before he signs it.

I don’t know how it would work out constitutionally, but a start might be that each state consider enacting a law along the line of that their Senators and Reps are by default forced to cast their vote in a manor that leans toward caution (essentially against in most cases) when dealing with bills that they have not been allowed a fair amount of time to read in full before casting their vote. Take the blame away from the majority leader and place it back in the individuals lap. Also mandate in the same that all house and senate votes are ARE public property and thus not subject to censorship.

The fool hasn’t even read the bill he’s pushing down our throats. He has no clue what all it entails.

Wanna make a law? Make it a damn law that any bill signed by a legislator needs to be read in full by the fool before he signs it.

What is WRONG with those people?

  • robert108

That should be: “All Americans supported the Patriot Act.” Thanks, little parrot; without your grammatical nitpicking, no one could have figured that one out.
Why don’t you mention the antisemitic smear word “neocon”?

  • Spartacus

    …smells like fear!

  • 2Hotel9

These people are far too insistent that no one actually read this bill. That should tip off anyone with a brain to what it really is.

  • 2Hotel9

I was going to let the Democrat Jew hate slide.

Why don’t you mention the antisemitic smear word “neocon”?

    geez, robert108.
where do you get your definitions?

    this from merriam-webster:

a conservative who advocates the assertive promotion of democracy and United States national interest in international affairs including through military means

do you just make this crap up?

  • 2Hotel9

Other than the fact they read it, no.

The Pariot Act was for national defense

that is twice you got me today, robert108 (tomato IS a vegetable).

if a bill is written and voted on in less than 45 days (sept, 11-oct 26, 2001) and it deals with national defense, there is no need to read it.

    i stand corrected.

  • crshedd

did neocons have this much outrage when congress passed the patriot act without reading it?

  • 2Hotel9

And yet more lies from cyberstalkerboob and its suckpuppet.

Go ahead. Tell us again how NASA never landed men on the moon, Thomas Edison was a moron, and your personal messiah Barack Hussein Obama is going to save the world, you lying assed cocksucker. We LOVE laughing at you faggot ass.

    r180 McCain voter:

BTW, all American supported the Patriot Act…

This is a grammaticly incorrect and a lie as well.

A statement is a lie if it’s not true… If you make a statement without knowing it’s true, and it isn’t true, you have lied.

    robert108 on December 14, 2008 at 12:48 pm

Given that it was typed by r180 McCain voter who also typed:

Telling one lie or even consistently lying about one subject…doesn’t make you a liar…

    robert108 on May 18, 2009 at 03:23 pm

It is not surprising to see him lie again and again.

  • robert108

The Pariot Act was for national defense, one of the few legitimate functions of the central govt. Wasteful social spending, especially for poltical payoff purposes, is not.
Big difference. Of course, if it weren’t for false equivalences, you leftie would have no arguments at all.

    It just passed the house.

I put a post on the front page about it.
