Want To Compare Radical Islam With The Klan Or The Inquisition? Here Are Some Numbers

I don’t know how many times I heard or read the moral equivalence bunch, when they are confronted with the facts about radical Islamic terrorism, point their fingers and with righteous indignation say, “Well, what about the inquisition? What about the Klan? See, we’re just as bad!”
Aside from the obvious fact that civilization came to grips with those monsters long ago, the equivocation simply doesn’t work anyway. Here are some very interesting numbers, along with the related source material from The Religion Of Peace:

More people are killed by Islamists each year than in all 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition combined. ( source)
More civilians were killed by Muslim extremists in two hours on September 11th than in the 36 years of sectarian conflict in Northern Ireland. (source)
Islamic terrorists murder more people every day than the Ku Klux Klan has in the last 50 years. (source)
19 Muslim hijackers killed more innocents in two hours on September 11th than the number of American criminals executed in the last 65 years. (source)

Note that the stats from the death penalty and the politically related conflict in Northern Ireland are thrown in there for good measure as well.
I’ll be interested to see just what kind of soft shoe some of our liberal readers will do to get around this one.

Too early to declare a winner, boys and gorls, but ewes is ahead so far in the race for moral eqivalence. Note that at no time does he address Islamic terror. He gets two extra points for ignoring the crux of the matter.

Nalhamid is a close second, though. He get points for bringing up WW2, when we killed all those innocent Japanese while conveniently neglecting to point out that they started it, and while they were drawing us into their war in Asia they were busily killing over a million TRULY inocent Chinese, Malaysians, and Philippinos. I didn’t know we killed a million Koreans, though. We carpet bombed North Korea, or is he talking about killing the ones who were trying to kill us?

Personally, I find the comparison between Islam and Judaism offensive. Islam has killed more innocent people in the last 10 seconds than Judaism has killed in the past millenia.

Let’s just do some math. Total muslims: approx 1 billion. We will allow that 10 were involved in each of the 94 attacks, which is generous. This leaves us generalizing from .00000094% of the population to the whole. What’s more, we have a comparason (approx 13.5 million Jews in the world) between .00000037% of the best Jews and .00000094% of the worst Muslims. Right. Unbiased. Just like the MSM.

Well sparkie. You still lose. Number of casualities of Israeli extremists= 0. Number of Islamic extremist casualitie>0. While Israel is making the world better by winning prizes, Muslims are killing people.

“There are crackpot Muslims going around killing people” is the understatement of the year. Since 9/11 alone there have been 10,000 such Muslim attacks.

So, to criticize Israel, you point to an example in Canada? You do realize that non-Jews (Christians, Blacks, Gypsies, etc) were ALSO killed in the Holocaust? Maybe it’s a conspiracy of wandering Gypsies!

1. You’re pointing to 1 city to try and ignore a worldwide trend.
2. Pointing out that various Christians murder people, and that various Muslim people kill people is an exercize in moral equivalence. Scratch a little bit at the surface, and you see a difference. When a Christian is caught doing something bad, it is never related to their faith. They don’t quote scripture or refer to the example of Jesus. A Christian woman who kills her husband will claim that he hit her, or that she found out he was having an affair.
Muslims, however, repeatedly justify violence in the historic records of Mohammad, the Quran, and the Hadith. A boy in Washington who runs over his classmates with a car claims to follow the Quranic command to smite the unbelievers. The DC Sniper quoted the Quran at arrest.
3. A search of “Philadelphia Protestant Murders” “Philadelphia Baptist Murder” “Philadelphia Christian murder” all come up with…nothing. So this epidemic that you’re talking about is clearly not happening. When and if Christians start murdering people for their faith, we’ll hear about it. After all, every five years when a guy bombs an abortion clinic, we hear about it for the next year or so (about how evil Christianity is).
A search for “Philadelphia Muslim Murder” turned up a couple of hits. One was directly linked to a Muslim woman murdering her husband over his desire to emulate the prophet Muhammad in taking more than one wife.

Judaism: 0

Indeed, almost all violence in Philly seems to be gang and/or drug related in predominantly poor/black areas.

The sectarian violence in Ireland has been going on since 1125. Something close to 8 million, give or take a few 100,000, Irish people have been murdered by the British Empire since then. During the staged potato famine, Ireland’s population was reduced from just over 8 million to just over 5 million. The creation of the IRA was just a transition of the resistance into something identifiable. While nothing less than a river of orange blood running to the sea will appease many of the members, it appears that they have won their country back and it will only be maybe another generation or so before things are normal.

So, the U.S. doesn’t quite match up yet with the 500,000 plus Iraqi genocide and 2.3 million displaced so, if you find the that fewer number of murders somehow justifies your holier than thou position, sleep well. Many people would say one is too many.

What happened in Ireland is what the U.S. has to look forward to as illustrated by Palestine. You can beat someone in a fight and become friends at arms’ length later as long as it is mutually beneficial. When you take someone’s home, you will never have peace until you give it back or kill them all.
