Walton & Johnson Swipes Say Anything Post

Walton & Johnson – a talk radio show broadcast in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi – was kind enough to talk about a recent post by Pilgrim here on Say Anything on the air, and even put a copy of that post on their website.
The problem? They didn’t give any credit for the post on the air, and the copy posted on their website included Pilgrim’s entire post (with some modifications) with, again, no credit to the person who wrote it. We here at Say Anything enjoy it when our posts get picked up in the media and by talk radio as happens quite frequently, but when that happens we do like that our status as the authors of those posts gets acknowledged.
We’ve emailed Walton & Johnson thanking them for using our material but asking that they at least give us credit for having written it. And perhaps at least apologize for just swiping the entire post without asking permission.

I sent ‘em an email about it and got this response:

    John Walton

It actually came as letter from a listener….if he got it somewhere else he didn’t say…but he is a regular contributor….PS…we don’t give a shit if
you come back…this site is for our radio show fans and most content comes from the fans…we don’t generate the site for webheads who waste the hours of their lives writing blogs that nobody reads. Goodbye and good “blogging”

    shame shame

I like these guys, too. Very funny, much more so than the average radio zoo crew types.

Everybody on the Gulf Coast knows them, from Houston to Mobile. I was very pleased when they started reading my column comparing radical Islam to the mob this morning and they said it was up on their website.

It’s there all right, but with some modifications and like Rob said, no attribution to me or Say Anything. I don’t even care if they named me, but giving the site a link would have been cool.

A while back I’d taken the day off and was working in my workshop and was amazed to hear Neil Boortz reading parts of one of my pieces. But – he linked this site on his blog. Reuters recently quoted me and linked the article.

C’mon guys – it ain’t that hard. Even a chimp like me can do a link. Sometimes.

And if you’re reading this – you still have the best morning show out there.

  • The credit bureau

Substitute “Religion” for “radical Islam “, and you have a George Carlin bit, more-or-less . You have a little crediting to do yourself .
    Cheers!

Well…at least one listener must also read blogs. ;)
