Video: Wal-Mart Shoppers Riot Over Xbox 360′s

Normally this would be funny, but given what happened earlier today…

Unlike some who look down their noses at “black friday,” it doesn’t really bother me. The stores want to sell stuff, and the people want to buy it. So be it.
But it is…disturbing to see people reduced to behaving like animals by discount prices on consumer electronics.

Years ago, I used to read news stories about tens and hundreds of people trampled and killed at riots and at soccer games

Here in the US, it used to happen at rock concerts.

Another proud moment for the capitalism lovers.

Why don’t you move to Cuba or Russia if you love Communism so much…oops – I forgot, your elk elected your own Communist dictator right here in the good ole USA, you don’t have to!

When all of you liberals realize the enslavement you bought with your Obamamania delusion, you’ll wake up! Nah…probably not, you’ll just bow at his feet and thank him for enslaving you!

As far as this “Black Friday” incident – it just goes to show that greed is not relegated to Congress alone!

Authentic conservatives bear NO responsibility for this vulgarity and have never instigated such behavior for amusement, news or profit. These people are Jerry Springer mental midgets signed, sealed and delivered by the MSM. Black Friday is hyped by the for days ahead actually announcing the locations of incredible sales in order to promote their own ratings. Paparazzi and news crews stalk sales hoping to get the best shots. Black Friday is all about news and entertainment and demonstrates yet another way the liberal establishment manipulates the poor and disadvantaged. As they have always done, liberal elitists toss crumbs from the table and then amuse themselves as the poor fight for just a taste. You don’t find too many conservatives in the MSM Dino, it’s the libs we can thank for this obscenity.

    That’s pathetic — really sad.

So much for the whole “human dignity” thing.

Did you read that these people actually started pushing and shoving when they thought that the workers weren’t opening the doors quickly enough? This is ridiculous. There were approx. 2,000 people waiting out there. Then, after shoving in and breaking the door down on top of the poor man, they continued on in stampeding on top of him trapped underneath. They wouldn’t even stop to let the other workers try to get to him and get him up. They shoved them down, too. As all this is going on, people that can see a problem don’t even stop, but continue to pour on in and shop. When they closed the store after it happened people got pissed off because they had waited in line!!!! That’s your compassionate fellow man for you! XBox before human life. Maybe the media and stores bear some blame in hyping this, not really feeling it myself, but Walmart bears the responsiblility of not having enough people out keeping everyone in line. The big blame, the majority of it goes to the callous people who didn’t care if they hurt someone to get inside. This wasn’t for life sustaining things, this was for shit people don’t even need. They should be put in kail for negligence.

As a longtime Walmart shareholder I believe the corporation owes this mans family a significant settlement. This tragic event should never been allowed to get this far out of control.

Years ago, I used to read news stories about tens and hundreds of people trampled and killed at riots and at soccer games in some god-forsaken place in South America or Southeastern Asia.

With our immigration policy, it’s probably the same people who are in New York and elsewhere doing it now.

I guess it was a near riot at one of our local Walmarts as well. The retail industry needs to rethink their process for “Black Friday”.

Now, Americans are killing each other over a X-boxes on sale at a Wal Mart in New York. My guess is that the people who did the trampling and killing probably should have been down at the grocery store fighting over hams and basic food stuff on sale.

I don’t know, but I submit my guess that these people are more consumed with a desire for consumer goods than a decent meal for their children.

Do you and your kids have a Constitutional right to video games? Yeah, the World , its a-changing.

I think that, disgusting as it may be, displays like this are necessary to remind us just how far from a civilized society and species we are. Politicizing it one way or another is yet another example of how far we are from being a civilized society or species. These are people who are convinced that this kind of behavior is acceptable.

In another sense, a tyranical or potentially tyranical governmental regime should take serious note of these events, as this might be a pretty good indication as to how far they can push the People before the People push back…

  • eneils Bailey

I saw some of the news clips after this tragedy.

People exiting the Wal Mart with HDTV’s slung over their shoulders, X-boxes under their arms, and no one showed the slightest bit of remorse for acting like “barbarians” as they trampled a store employee to death.

Sad situation in a civilized world, everyday occurrence in a sub-culture that values immediate personal satisfaction beyond anything else.

Hey baby, Got your Christmas present, sorry people had to die to make you happy.

  • Dino

You can send out a big hearty THANKS to the culture created by conservatives for this type of behavior. Shallow, materialistic, born to consume and acquire.

Another proud moment for the capitalism lovers.

I wonder how much of this behavior is driven by the media. I’m not taking responsibility for this boorish behavior off of the boors, but I wonder how many of them act like this because all the “black friday” hype in the media makes them feel like they’re supposed to act like that.

Authentic conservatives bear NO responsibility for this vulgarity and have never instigated such behavior for amusement, news or profit. These statements are the most ignorant I have ever heard. When you can’t find any other culprit blame the media. It seems that is an excuse you have for every incident of irresponsible behavior. I shouldn’t have to explain this to supposedly intelligent adults. The media’s job is to inform and report the news. Every retailer out there wants the public to know about the great deals they offer in order to get shoppers in the store. That is why they plug Black Friday weeks in advance. What is the public response to all this? They do what every woman knows is called bargain hunting. Getting the best deal at the lowest price. And it crosses ALL classes of citizens. You have a big superiority complex if you think there were no well heeled shoppers in the crowd. I wonder how many of them were pushing and shoving people out of the way so they could grab that bargain priced item first. If you want to thank anyone for this obscenity, it is based on corporate greed and a culture of getting something for nothing. It is conservative elitists like you who foster this kind of behavior. Then you turn around and blame it on the less fortunate. Is it any wonder that college students, who seem unable to pay off student loans, wait in long lines for long hours in order to get a chance at buying one of the 25 PS3′s available. This is human behavior, like it or not. If it had not been for the tragic events of the day, this would have been just another snippet on the evening news.

    Dick In Nether Orifice,

I wouldn’t be laughing so hard but you just keep it up don’t you?

It’s unbelievable how everything in the world that’s bad or at least not good, is attributable to the Republicans and Capitalism, when it actually is the Democrats that cause all the problems. :-)

    Right.

Better to stand in line for state-issued video games.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Not that I’m defending the idiocy above, but the ideals of capitalism and individualism have nothing to do with behavior like that on display above.

In fact, I’m willing to bet there were a few fights like that over the last loaf of bread at the state store in Stalin’s Russia. Or Castro’s Cuba.

You’ll note that I’m not taking the responisiblity from the behavior away from the people in the dog pile. I’m just wondering how much of it is people whipped into a frenzy by hype.

I think it’s a legitimate question worth discussing. Honestly, you liberals need to open your minds a bit. You’re always getting your panties in a twist and trying to declare certain topics off limits.
