VIDEO: Ron Paul Is Crazy As Usual At CPAC

Here’s Ron Paul’s address to CPAC.

Allah sums up why this guy isn’t worth taking seriously:

Skip ahead to 13:35 for the start of the foreign-policy passage — a few minutes in, he recycles the bogus Lancet statistic of a million Iraqi deaths from the war — or to 16:20 for a history lesson that culminates with Afghanistan and begins with the claim that our entry into World War I somehow led to hundreds of millions of deaths in the 20th century. This, of course, is why the left appreciates him even though his economic philosophy’s anathema: There’s no violence anywhere in the world that he can’t blame on American policy. As long as we have troops stationed abroad and favor some nations over others, we’re guilty of original sin; he’s that fanatic an isolationist. Except, that is, when his political future’s on the line, as it was after 9/11 when the country supported Bush’s invasion of Afghanistan overwhelmingly and Paul quietly went along. Didn’t he “know anything about history”?

What’s frustrating about Paul is that, on specific issues, he’s great. But on others he goes so far off the tracks as to not even be worth taking seriously.
The man is a crank. Very good at standing on the sidelines and throwing rocks at everyone else, but if this man were ever elected to lead we’d be in serious trouble.

I just seen on Fox news Ron Paul took 3rd in the straw pole for the next Repub presidential candidate. All I can say is he’s probably better than Obama.

I don’t think we want to go there the many is just as nutty as Dennis K of the left.

i fully agree. I think he would probably do a better job then obama. But he is all we have for now. He has some of the most testing times ahead.

Ron Paul was Gordon Kahl’s mentor or maybe it was Gordon Kahl was a Ron Paul disciple, but anyway, remember how far it got him?

  • TJ

That constitution thingy is dumb. I support Limbaugh/Palin/Romney for president! They won’t let that dumb oath thing get in their way of leading.

  • brenarlo

    I agree with jimmypop.

  • Hannitized

Beck loves him, many think he is a crank. The republicans are in a sad state these days.

Rush is on right now having his name chanted after stating this was his first address to the nation, thanks to Fox News.

    Hilarious.

I watched Mitt Romney and he was brilliant!

yup. and i still like him more than 99% of the repubs that are in office right now.

Maybe if he was more like Bush, he would be a slam dunk eh?

nah, bushs problem was he was a liberal. like jon mac. liberals dont sell well to conservatives.

So then we were right that John McCain was Bush-light? Or, was Rush just a dishonest hack who propped up a RHINO throughout the BUSH two terms?

    Help me out here jimmypop.

    Amen Brother Rob, Amen.

Ready for a flood of Paulbots in 3…2…1… Heh.

  • jimmypop

Paul’s devoted worshipers remind me of President Obama’s worshipers; both leaders would love to see America attacked again just to put us in our place.

i see paul having one massive policy problem….. people like barry only have one good idea.

  • brenarlo

Again, I largely agree with jimmypop, though Paul doesn’t want to build a wall and his non-interventionist positions are a serious political liability. Those policies will make American better.

  • AR-15

it will never last. he wants to follow too many REAL conservative policies. scary stuff to a lot of bought and paid for conservatives (taking away that money will be his end btw). plus all the PURE isolationism is a serious, serious problem. Whats funny is liberals like john mac were given a pass on many BIG liberal ideas he had, but nobody will give Paul a pass even one thing. besides, even if paul was pres i just cant see enough support from EITHER party to close all our world bases and build a wall.

Yea I agree, too many people think he wears a tinfoil hat. If he wants a chance he needs to back off on the isolationism stuff and start campaigning today.
I’m a big Palin wonk, she tied him for 3rd with 13% of the vote. Mitt was 1st but he has a bit of a liberal history. I know I know he had to be to win Mass. but history speaks volumes to me. And independents think Mormon is an evil word.

He’s really a libertarian and libertarians have never been strong on political strategy. If he let go of the hard money (aint no way we’re going back to the gold standard), the 9/ll conspiracy stuff and anti-war stuff, he would have made a decent run at the presidency.

    Paul is a goof-wad, and a distraction.

Why was luaPnoR invited? Comic relief?

yes, but i hear more and more people saying ‘well, im really more of a libertarian’ every month. the debate is whether you change the republican party into a conservative party or let them stay liberal and form a new party.

the repubs are bought and paid for and really are not much different that liberals any more. hell, look at north dakota! our librican leaders can seem to spend money fast enough and some of them supported the measures that said they should not and could not be trusted with our money. these same people are spending every cent. looks like they were right….. its insane!

    summary;
i grew up with a ronny poster on my wall. i wanted to be a republican leader just like him. i honestly dont think he could win the party nomination now. im not sure i could either.

  • Hannitized

Essentially, if he were a different candidate, he might have a chance at it.

Maybe if he was more like Bush, he would be a slam dunk eh?

    Hahahaha.

  • docdave

. That’s the crux of why they lost the election. What Rush and company are trying to do is get the Repubs back on the conservative road.

his non-interventionist positions are a serious political liability.

You mean his Charles Lindberg-style isolationism and willingness to blame our country for everything that’s wrong with the world?

Yeah, that is one hell of a liability.

  • Schlepp72

All I know is that I couldn’t care less about politics until I started listening to Ron Paul’s debates and interviews. He has brought back common sense to the people and finally there is someone to stand behind. I’m sick and tired of the goverment telling me what I have to do and how I have to do it. I am a grown woman who can make up my own mind about whether or not to do drugs, give to the less fortunate, or send my children to war. When did we stop trusting ourselves to do the right thing and teach our children well, and start giving that power away to people who don’t even know us?
