Vets For Freedom Hits Obama On Missed Votes, Committee Meetings Not Held

Damning stuff:

Obama’s been wrong on Iraq. Most of the Democrat party has been wrong on Iraq. Most of the reporters in the media have been wrong on Iraq. But what’s sad is that it doesn’t matter. The media has excused themselves and the Democrats for being wrong, and they’ve all but stopped reporting on the progress in Iraq.
Because now that Iraq is going well, suddenly it’s not a big story any more.

This is a non-starter in my opinion. Without double checking at the moment, McCain has missed many, many votes during the campaign — more than Obama, if I recall correctly.

See, Jack! There’s hope for both of us!

Ouch Jack, that hurts. I wonder how this silly little ad stacks up against the MSM and their love affair with Barry and the left..? How they did NOT do their homework on Barry and his shady Chicago ties. Something that they do every day and night on the networks, and in print.

    Do I need to continue..?

    Astroturf

Why are conservatives too dumb and/or lazy to check their sources?

  • Jack

Vets for Freedom (sic) is such a pathetic astroturf group that they have to pay frat boys to show up.

    Iraq Veterans Against the War

    Vietnam Veterans Against the War

One of the most shocking things about Obama is his mental laziness.

For all the years that he “taught” law in Chicago, he didn’t bother to do any publication worthy research or writing. I’m sure that the law school would have loved to move him into the tenure track, as he was a Harvard educated minority. But Barry couldn’t be bothered with basic legal scholarship.

I think it’s very telling that he never found the time to write any articles, but he was always available to lead a parade.

It seems like Sayanything has a rodent infestation from time to time and the same crap keeps repeating themselves and recycling the same tired arguments now we have JACK-OFF and who knows how many names he has posted under here.

The Leftards here had better be careful about their condemnation of “AstroTurf”. Obama’s campaign manager, David Axelrod is the King of AstroTurf!

    Prove it.

Can you prove VFF is astroturf? Can you prove there are no actual members, on paid advertising company employees?

Since I have stood Honor Guard with members of VFF on several occasions in DC and Arlington, and given their wiki article I guess that you, jackoff, are once again proven to be a lying sack of shit. Good job, buddy!

Vets for Freedom (sic) is such a pathetic astroturf group that they have to pay frat boys to show up.
    Iraq Veterans Against the War
    Vietnam Veterans Against the War

First, the charge about the group paying frat boys is clearly debunked in the HuffPost piece as being a common occurance:

Judy Mayka, a spokesperson for the national chapter, said that the practice of paying for demonstrators had been going on without their knowledge and would subsequently end.
“Obviously this was not a direction from national and we have contacted the Missouri staffers and volunteers and told them it is not appropriate in our policy,” she said. “And those who choose to attend the vice presidential debate should not be compensated.”
As for the payments made for volunteers during the Mississippi presidential debate, Mayka added: “We will be looking into that.”

And let’s look into these two groups here. The Iraq Veterans Against the War is so up and up, they chose a deserter, and former prisoner, to head up their group:
    http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Iraq_Veterans_Against_the_War

“To underscore that point,” Glantz wrote, “the veterans group elected Staff Sergeant Camilo Mejia chair of its board of directors. In the winter of 2003, Mejia was the first soldier to refuse to return to fight in Iraq after an initial tour in the war zone.

“When Mejia came home on leave after six months in Iraq, he went AWOL rather than return. Ultimately, he served nine months in prison after the military denied his demand to be discharged as a conscientious objector.”[2]

So their head is a soldier who dishonorably chose not to fulfill his duty to country after going over…A man, who by his own admission, is a coward. Assuming his story is true, instead of reporting it, he fled. And then he only brought it up as a defense to jail time. What a piece of filth. And further more the group encourages sedition:

“Iraq Veterans Against the War has also begun organizing among active duty soldiers on military bases. Veterans have toured the country in busses holding barbeques outside the base gates. … [and] also plans to step up efforts to undermine military recruiting efforts in the coming year,” Glantz wrote.[2]

Seeking to undermine military recruitment is shady as it is. It’ll involve lying and intimidation.

So what about the other group? The Vietnam Veterans Against the War are simply an anti-American and anti-US group. Their web site features a litany of anti-US talking points and borderline retarded articles like “War is never the answer”. It is not that these men and women have a principled stand against a war, but that they are against war period. It’s not that they stand for veterans, but simply like to point out the failings of our government. Trying to get amnesty for deserters in an all volunteer army is shameful, and painting all of our soldiers as rapists and murderers as they did in Nam should get them pelted with eggs.

Yea, let’s compare the Vets for Freedom with these groups. Eye roll.

    …now we have JACK-OFF…

This is what passes for clever among conservatives. Sad.

  • Jack

    Kenny:

I certainly cannot fault you for laziness—you put a lot of effort into your comments. I respect that, I really do.

However, Strunk & White tell us to omit unneeded words and this is something you should try. I think you need an editor. You could boil down both your comments to a single sentence:

They disagree with me so I hate them.

So how much better that is? Brevity is a virtue, dude.

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

Why are conservatives too dumb and/or lazy to check their sources?

Well, hammering you on your own groups, let’s look at the actual VFF leaders and founders, not their paid advisors:

    http://www.vetsforfreedom.org/about/founders.aspx

Hmmm, all of them soldiers. All from Iraq. Oooooooodd. Well, wait. Not really.

What is our beef here? This article (which is clearly slanted against them, and goes so far to claim NEO-CON) can’t help but point out they wrote pro-war articles…but so what? They’re a group that wants to win the war. It’s kinda like pointing out the mothers at a bake sale made cookies and cupcakes. CONSPIRACY!

And even odder, the people who contribute to them…believe in the cause! Heaven help me, this is so thick with intrigue I may have a heart attack! Some members have even worked with OTHER pro-war groups? Well, I’m stunned. Next they’ll say the men support Bush’s war plans….oh wait there it is. Oh god! This is the big one! I’m coming to see you Elizabeth!

This article HAS to be a joke right?

  • Jack

There’s over 22,000 references so let me know when you’ve finished those!

Well, whatdya know? I stand corrected as well.

  • Jack

I wonder how this silly little ad stacks up against the MSM and their love affair with Barry and the left..?

I keep forgetting that you’re a conspiracy nut who thinks that Viacom, Disney, and GE are all part of a neo-marxist cabal.

*rolling my eyes to the heavens*

  • 2Hotel9

It is not clever, it is simply correct nomenclature, and learn what “astroturfing” actually is.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

I apologize! He is Obama’s chief campaign strategist and closest campaign advisor. A position that I thought was occupied by his campaign manager. I stand corrected.

  • atease

I keep forgetting that you’re a conspiracy nut who thinks that Viacom, Disney, and GE are all part of a neo-marxist cabal.

Well, since we are in a truth telling moment…

Well, whatdya know? I stand corrected as well.

I am not a nut. There is a tilt to the left from the MSM. The talking heads at ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, CNBC have given more positive stories to the Dem’s than they have given to the GOP. You even had two fired/demoted a few weeks ago because of their far left slant.

The print media is just behind them.

Look, Jack. I am not complaining. Just the truth. The ad above is a grain of sand to what the right faces daily. Barry was not vetted. Hillary should have been your nomination, not this inexperienced child who has a talent for reading.

    atease

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

Perhaps they complain about the group because they can’t defend against the charge?

  • Jack

    2H9:

If they have to pay frat boys to show up, they are astroturf.
    Pure and simple, dude.

Did you honor guard for them for free while they’re paying frat boys, you’re a chump. Why didn’t you go for the cash?

  • Lestat

Most votes aren’t close enough for one vote to make a difference. If you want any real analysis than you have to look at the close votes.

If you really want candidates to show up for votes than you must support changing the system and shortening campaigns.

  • 2Hotel9

Hungry, Barri wrote papers, they are simply not being released. Each attempt to get them is met by denial of access. That tells me they are very damning in nature, just like the birth certificate.

  • Pomerdorgrad

I’m all for knocking Obama on his record, and his recent speeches are outrageous in their attacks on people who produce wealth, but on missing votes, McCain’s the loser.

    From the Washington Post:

    64.5%
    Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)
    Representing: Arizona
Votes: 420 votes missed (64.5%), 231 votes cast

    47.8%
    Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD)
    Representing: South Dakota
Votes: 311 votes missed (47.8%), 340 votes cast

Note: Sen. Johnson suffered a brain hemorrhage on Dec. 13, 2006, and spent several months recovering. He has since returned to the Senate.

    46.5%
    Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL)
    Representing: Illinois
Votes: 303 votes missed (46.5%), 348 votes cast

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

    Prove it.

    Without breaking a sweat!

Mr. Off: Far be it from me to suggest as simple a search as “David Axelrod astroturf“, but you could look here:

…Axelrod operates a second business, ASK Public Strategies…Alderman Brendan Reilly of the 42nd Ward, who has been battling the Children’s Museum’s relocation plans, describes ASK as “the gold standard in Astroturf organizing.

Or here: David Axelrod’s firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as “astroturfing.”

    The Huffington Post:

ASK’s approach is known as “Astroturfing”, or manufacturing artificial grassroots. More on that in a moment.

There’s over 22,000 references so let me know when you’ve finished those!

  • Jack

    Proof:
David Plouffe is Obama’s campaign manager, not Mr. Axlerod. You delight in pointing out every typo a liberal makes, but you can’t even keep your own smears correct.

  • WOOFX

    McCain has shown up to
    vote Against Veterans interests.
    Disabled American Veterans rates
McCain at 20 Obama at 80.

    Vets For Freedom is AstroTurf.
