UN’s Billion Trees Initiate Becomes 7 Billion Trees Initiative

That’s a whole lot of trees.

Of course, I’d be willing to bet that the global logging industry has planted more trees than that in the same timespan.  And all of those trees didn’t cost us a penny in tax dollars.

The more trees the merrier. They are a great defense against global warming.

At Last!  After all these years and oh, so very much frustration and disappointment.  Finally, in my own lifetime, something marginally worthwhile accomplished by the UN!

I am simply overcome with joy at the event, and gratitude that I’ve lived long enough to finally witness this earth-shattering occurrence.

Trees are a crop; why is the UN involved in tree farming?

Howdy Keven- The U.N. has done some wonderful work over the years which have saved lives and helped many communities. Here is their web. Take a look:http://www.un.org/english/

Tell the UN to slow their roll, ease up on the 7 billion, I planted a Winter King Hawthorn and a white pine in my back yard last weekend. Tell them they can knock the total down to 6,999,999,998. Of course, subtracting my 2 trees out of the total will probably cost they guy selling them the trees ten grand or so.

Good to know the bastards are good for planting trees, cause they’re not worth a crap for anything else.

Davinski - The more trees the merrier.

Not necessarily. Too many trees in an area where the ground water table is low is detrimental to the environment.

They are a great defense against global warming.

You presume that this is a good thing.

They hate America and they hate Israel. Their “wonderful work” pales in comparison to the travesty of justice that is the “world body”.
