Unions Aiding/Abetting Identity Theft

Somebody tell me why these union idiots shouldn’t be arrested for being complicit in a criminal enterprise.

DODGE CITY, Kan. - Frightened by raids last year at six Swift & Co. plants, illegal immigrants in the nation’s meatpacking towns are preparing for their possible arrest.

For years, immigrant rights groups had been confident the meatpacking giants were so powerful immigration agents would never raid them. But since the Dec. 12 sweeps at Swift plants in six states, immigrant advocacy groups have been holding workshops, teaching undocumented workers how to prepare for their arrests by doing such things as drawing up legal documents so someone could care for their children and handle their financial affairs.

In addition, the United Food and Commercial Workers union has printed a bilingual immigration rights kit it plans to distribute nationwide to workers in the coming weeks. The kit includes practical information, legal documents and sample letters.

“We want to make sure they (immigration officials) don’t take advantage of our people,” said Martin Rosas, secretary-treasurer for UFCW in Dodge City.

Among those making preparations since attending a workshop is the family of a 43-year-old man who works under a false identity at the National Beef plant in Liberal. Two of his four children, ranging in ages from 4 to 18, were born in the United States, where he’s lived on an off for 21 years.

Got that?  The guy is working under a false identity.  We know from the raids on the Swift packing plants late last year that most of these illegals are able to maintain employment by using other people’s Social Security numbers and identities.  So chances are this unnamed 43-year-old man is using the identity of some poor schmuck who doesn’t even know about it.  And the unions are helping him do it.  Heck, even this reporter knows he’s doing it, and it’s like they don’t even care.

Forget that this guy is already a criminal for having thumbed his nose at the immigration laws we, as a country, instituted, he’s also a criminal for using some honest, law-abiding citizen’s identity as his own.

I’m glad to hear that folks like this criminal described above are scared of being arrested soon.  I hope he is, in fact, arrested soon.  And when he is arrested I hope the union idiots who were a) aware of his status as an illegal immigrant and b) aware of the fact that he’d stolen someone else’s identity get arrested as well for being complicit in his crimes.

It would serve them right.

And let’s not pretend that the unions are doing this out of any sort of compassion for the plight of the illegal immigrants.  They’re doing this because union enrollment has been declining dramatically for years, and the unions don’t want to lose the dues paid by these illegal workers.

The union is wrong in doing this.  The person using the false identity should do hard time.

Companies also do this.  I know of a woman that works two jobs under two different names.  At one of her jobs, the company told her that they were filing paperwork for her with the government under an alias.  She just wanted the job.  So she cashes both paychecks at once with the two different names and the Credit Union lets her do it.

Until society figures out that following the law is what should be done and decides not to cut corners, I don’t know if we can ever stop this garbage.

I think you’re full of crap with this little story.  A woman with two identities, and a company plus a credit union in on it and letting her do it?

Color me skeptical.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

Knowingly admitting to committing a crime. Stealing someone SSN and Identity is a serious crime add on to that they are illegally in the country another crime. Me thinks these people should be deported and not allowed back in the country.

What advantage would an employer have to hire someone under a fake name?

If you are a real cop ( as indicated from your avatar ) then you are obligated to turn this alleged woman in to the proper authorities. Otherwise you are part of the problem.

Rob,

It’s true.  But believe what ever you want.  I’m not a cop.  The avatar is because it’s Steve Guttenberg and an Astros symbol on the cap.
