Unions To Rally In Bismarck On Saturday To Show Solidarity With Wisconsin
Update: PlainsDaily.com has a report as well.
My guess? The rally will draw a fraction of the crowd at the tea party protests at the capitol but will get an inordinate amount of press coverage.
Because that’s the media double standard. Leftist protests are genuine outpouring of expression by the great unwashed masses. Protests by the limited government crowd are things to be reviled, if not outright ignored.

Rally to Save the American Dream – 0 miles away
600 East Boulevard Avenue
Bismarck, ND 58501
Hosted by Don Morrison, Joey Roberson-Kitzman
Calling all students, teachers, union members, workers, patriots, public servants, unemployed folks, progressives, and people of conscience:
In Wisconsin and around our country, the American Dream is under fierce attack. Instead of creating jobs, Republicans are giving tax breaks to corporations and the very rich and then cutting funding for education, police, emergency response and vital human services. The right to organize is on the chopping block. The American Dream is slipping out of reach for more and more Americans, and we have to fight back.
Join us in front of every the Bismarck State House this Saturday at 12 Noon to stand in solidarity with the people of Wisconsin. We demand an end to the attacks on workers’ rights and public services across the country. We demand investment, to create decent jobs for the millions of people who desperately want to work.
After decades of stagnant wages and a crushing recession, this latest assault on the American way of life is
And that’s where it ends.
I think it’s funny that the message claims that Republicans are cutting funding for public services, but giving corporations tax breaks. Here in North Dakota the opposite is true. We’ve seen huge spending increases and very little in the way of tax relief.
But really, cutting budgets and cutting taxes is exactly what states like Wisconsin need. They’ve got more government than they can afford and fewer jobs than they need. Cutting down spending addresses the first issue, cutting taxes addresses the second.
It’s like these leftists don’t understand how responsible, adult fiscal decisions are made and would rather just carry on spending willy-nilly with no concern for the solvency of our government.Tags: North Dakota News, unions, wisconsin
