Uh Oh: Rumors Swirl About Pam Gulleson Canceling Ad Buys
4:09pm
Very credible sources tell me that North Dakota House candidate Pam Gulleson has been canceling ad buys in the state. That’s not a good sign for the beleaguered candidate who, despite starting the race off with strong fundraising, hasn’t gotten a lot of traction against Republican Kevin Cramer.
News of canceled ad buys by candidates spreads quickly, especially at this point in the election cycle. Ad time is at its apex in value, media outlets can’t sell it for any more than they’re selling it for right now, and when some comes available other campaigns/political parties/candidates, etc. become aware of it quickly as ad reps try to sell it.
Apparently, Gulleson has been canceling her ad-buys one week at a time, and just today canceled her last week of advertising leaving her off the television entirely until election day.
In addition to a wide lead in polling, and a general sense in political circles that he is running away with this race, this may be the surest sign yet that Cramer has won.
For what it’s worth, Cramer reported $476,000 in fundraising for the last reporting period, but the Gulleson campaign hasn’t released any numbers yet. If her campaign is pulling ads, it’s not likely she took in a lot of money.
