The goal of this political campaign is to brand dissent itself as uncivil, and thus invalid. The theory goes that if we all just stop disagreeing with another shootings like the one in Tucson won’t happen.

Except, the Tucson shooting had nothing to do with politics. And I don’t want to live in a country where everyone agrees with one another.
