Tough Guy Obama Likens Campaign With McCain To A Gun Fight

Apparently Barack Obama is going to shoot John McCain or something.

He warned that the general election campaign could get ugly. “They’re going to try to scare people. They’re going to try to say that ‘that Obama is a scary guy,’” he said. A donor yelled out a deep accented “Don’t give in!”

“I won’t but that sounded pretty scary. You’re a tough guy,” Obama said.

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said. “Because from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”

All joking aside, is it just me or does Barack Obama seem to be asserting that people have a right to carry firearms and to use those firearms to defend themselves?

On the contrary!  Obama is trying to swath himself in a bit of rhetorical testosterone.  It helps, presumably, when he later tries to sell his notion of banning handguns completely.

Then too, he is going up against an opponent who spent more time in chains being beaten and maimed then Obama and his wife together spent in law school.  If Barack Obama can’t make some sort of inroads with all those white, working-class voters who cling to God and guns, his candidacy goes down in flames… just like John McCain’s Skyhawk.

John Kerry made an ass of himself trying to ditch the aura of metro-sexual savoir faire.  Obama has a similar problem.  Nobody in their right mind can take him seriously as a Commander-in-chief.

Rather ironic, coming from a “global warming” acolyte who relies on scare tactics to push his collectivist agenda!

I say put Obama in a tank and take his picture, that will make him look tough enough!

The one mistake he can make is to try and make himself appear tough, while standing next to a man that, despite my preferring another candidate; endured terrible pain in many forms, truly beyond what we would consider human endurance. If he tries and play tough next to that, he will become a comic figure.

Too brief homage to The Untouchables, Connery’s “The Chicago Way” speech.

Rob, this is known as a metaphor laced with sarcasm.

A world with Obama is scarey.

That’s because the focus groups liked it better than lines from “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”!

I watched a news clip today of Obama helping fill sandbags somewhere in Illinois. I know this isn’t PC, but neither am I, the way Obama held a shovel looked real gay. It was obvious that basic manual labor as simple as using a shovel is foreign to this clown. His handlers should not try to pass him off as a “regular” Joe. I’m waiting for the photo-op of Obama pretnding to be a hunter to impress the NRA crowd. He could borrow John Kerry’s orange shooters vest. It’s only been worn once.

The dems are great of trying to be what they are not.  Dukakis in a tank comes to mind.

One of the most important talents for success in politics is the ability to make utter nonsense sound not only plausible but inspiring. Barack Obama has that talent. We will be lucky if we escape the catastrophes into which other countries have been led by leaders with that same charismatic talent.

obama isn’t a Dukakis.  obama would be afraid to get into a tank.

from what I understand folks in Philly like a good brawl

that’s just a fucked up comment to make, given the problems with gun violence in Philadelphia. African American teens are killing each other at disturbing rates here. But Obama apparently isn’t above tapping that for some fanfare.

In poor taste if you ask me.
