Brian Williams was pretty spineless today, letting Biden push all the Obama talking points without challenging him on them.

The liberal MSM is going to run out of liberal/left news anchors and pap pushers—then what?  Will they hire someone who has not voted Dem all their adult life?  What fun it will be to watch as the MSM scrubs itself clean and lily white once again.  Maybe a series of national town hall meetings with the Kalbs, Rooneys, Moyers and the like debating the middle of the road wonderfulness of the MSM.

As for myself, not only have I never threatened to quit if I don’t get Tim Russert’s job. Not only have I not vied for it. Not only has the subject not even come up between me and anybody who will be involved in this sad task. Not only did the Post make this up. Not only is the very subject of Tim Russert’s job not appropriate now, as anyone with a shadow of a heart would understand, but I don’t even consider myself qualified for it.

Have you ever seen one of Brokaw’s interviews of Bush? He was softer than Jeff Gannon on the guy. Brokaw sucked up to Dubya so much I thought he was going to start sucking him off.

It enjoyed watching Chis Matthews express awe at the intelect and integrity of Tim Russert, while lamenting the fact that Russert supported the war in Iraq.

Unlike Matthews, Russert was a devout Catholic who believed that some causes were worth dying for.  It’s pretty hard to convince secular numbskulls like Matthews that dying is necessary at all—at least, without triggering litigation.

There is only one guy out there who might be a credible replacement for Russert, and that is Chris Wallace.  If he were to get the nod, I believe the Democrats might be pleasantly surprised, and the Republicans might feel a bit betrayed.  Wallace would possess none of Russert’s warmth, but he would be every bit as objective, which would make spending time with him every politician’s nightmare.

Brian Williams, by the way, was Joe Biden’s bitch yesterday.  My guess is the ratings will tank unless and until a “new” Russert is found.  Of course, if you can believe it, NBC isn’t in it for the ratings—which would be a good thing if it were true.
