Tolerant Liberals Riot At Emory University

David Horowitz showed up at Emory University last night to speak at an event for Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week.  Horowitz’s speech was to highlight the many atrocities committed globally (murdering gays, honor killings, sexual mutilation and outright terrorism) in the name of Islam.

The local liberals didn’t take to kindly to the event.

On Wednesday evening, the Emory University Chapter of the College Republicans hosted acclaimed author and activist David Horowitz for a lecture on radical Islam as part of Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week. From the beginning of Horowitz’s speech, rowdy protesters continually interrupted him and less than half an hour into the event, the crowd became so disruptive that police were called in and Horowitz had to be escorted off stage.

Over 300 people - a cross-section of students, professors, and Atlanta community members - packed into White Hall where the event was held. The audience included a wide range of Leftists from Amnesty International, Veterans for Peace, and Students for Justice in Palestine, as well as Muslim groups such as the Muslim Student Association. In addition, members of “National Project to Defend Dissent & Critical Thinking in Academia,” an organization dedicated to opposing Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week events throughout the country, participated in the protests dressed in orange attire as a reference to Guantanamo Bay. There was also a sizable group of men and women dressed in traditional Muslim garb as well as students wearing Kafiyehs, a symbol of Arab solidarity.

“I’ve spoken at Emory University several times and I’ve never seen it this bad,” said Horowitz responding to the crowd as they shouted and jeered. “This is exactly what the fascists did in Germany in the 1930s.” Protesters began their efforts as soon as Horowitz was introduced with boos and chants of “Heil Hitler.” Despite the people who stood with their backs to Horowitz and the shouting of obscenities and other remarks from audience members, Horowitz attempted to deliver his speech that covered academic freedom and radical Islam. The loud chants, sign-waving, and disruptive gestures continued to escalate from audience members until the atmosphere was so chaotic that even the police present were unable to subdue the crowd. Horowitz was led off stage and left the campus under tight security, and the event came to an abrupt end.

Here’s some video:

Something tells me that if this event were about highlighting American misdeeds around the world there wouldn’t have been this kind of a reaction.

Because we all know America is the real problem in the world.

So much for that quaint idea that universities are places for the free exchange of different ideas and beliefs.

Who doesn’t love the tolerance of the left.

Once again, the left showing their Hitler-love and all of the yummy fascist tendencies that go with it.

And the Fairness doctrine guarantees voice to every faction, unless you are a conservative.  Tyranny Uber Alles - the cry of the leftist liberals.

This is another display of intolerant behavior that has become commonplace in the U.S. How sad it is to see our “educated” youth being encouraged in this kind of activity--to say they are being used is far too simple an explanation.  They are selfish, boorish, and unthinking spoiled brats--be they teenagers or 50’ish.  Sometimes I get the sinking feeling that our treasured freedom has no value to these people.  What a shame!

For those of us Right thinkers who live in the Atlanta area, this is especially embarrassing.  Our city is already burdened with the noxious Jimmy Carter and his Wahabist-funded center for the advancement of global autocracy (also affiliated with Emory University).  We’ve also been cursed with a 30 year string of city administrations that are charitably described as incompetent.

Emory used to enjoy a reputation as one of the two or three most prestigious institutions of higher learning in the South.  Apparently all that liberal talk of diversity and inclusiveness was just so much leftwing BS.  Hardly a surprise.

halatbis,

The intolerance of those on the left is as well established as gravity or the phases of the moon.  What is intolerable (pun intended) is the deliberate dishonesty of these same self-styled defenders of diversity and tolerance.  In the name of their own freedom of speech they drown out those whose point of view differs from their own.

If the left’s hypocrisy ever focused on the Second Amendment, instead of the First, we’d be looking at a bloodbath.

Emory used to be an American success. Now it is simply a leftard daycare center.

It is time to start doing this to their speakers.

Could you even imagine if a leftard academic or socialist dimocrap politician went to address a convention of conservatives and someone squeezed off an accidental taco fart.

Wolf Blitzer would declare an instant news alert and The New York Times would issue a special edition.

Remember, Josef Stalin and the Bolsheviks and Hitler and the Nazi’s were hard-core left-wing socialist’s and employed these same techniques to discredit the sanity of their opposition. They made no bones about it, they isolated the opposition, then they figuratively and literally killed them.
