I am not crying for privacy and I agree with your points generally, I am only asking for a little restraint instead of everyone rejoicing in his fall from grace!

Sorry, even if someone is my enemy, I feel sincere compassion for anyone that falls from a high position in life, because of their inner demons; and I feel sad that others built them into demigods and then when they showed their feet are of clay, these same people rejoice in kicking them while they are down. Lastly, I believe in redemption and restoration!

I don’t get it.

Mickey? The problem is that Tiger IS representative of the country club elite. I have known far too many of them, morally bankrupt liars whose “superiority” is based in their self-delusional psychosis.
Nman, the only ones I feel any compassion for are their children. I don’t buy that his wife was unaware, I fully believe she knew exactly what tiger was doing, that they had what the swingers of the ’70s called an “open marriage”, and this blowup was triggered by something else entirely.

“I didn’t imitate Heston.” It was just your natural charisma coming through!

We can laugh at Tiger just because he is another celebrity who has been exposed. Many Blacks on the other hand are devastated. Tiger was their hero. The black man who beat the white man at his symbolic core: GOLF. The private club world of wealthy, wasp, heterosexual, successful, blond, conservative, politically correct, legal, elite, upper crust, Mercedes driving, executive CEO, blue eyed white men. He wasn’t some punk ass community activist political poser, he was “the man with the club”, the real deal…or so we thought.
Where have all the heros gone?

Sorry, but he is definitely a compulsive idiot. In more than 2 decades of marriage I have been faithful to my wife and I don’t get someone being that stupid in this day and age with the diseases there out there with no cure. This is like something hannitized would do. In any case his wife has split already so he shattered his family over whoring around. Very stupid.

I love your positive think! I still think your Heston imitation was silly, but love your positive thinking!

Cool, Sarah knows who I am!

Very positive way to look at rejection!

Some people have entirely too much time on their hands. And these video guys need a life, too.

Or 9 on a slow day!

We build up heroes by idolizing men or women of great achievements and then when they are on their human constructed thrones, we forget they were always frail human beings just like the rest of us, not gods at all. So, in a way we are at fault when we are discouraged at their fall, we should never given them personal adoration, instead we should have just respected their talents or acomplishments.
For blacks, they are always, for a host of reasons, all understandable, looking for that black messiah figure and when they look to men they will always be disappointed. Whether it was a MLK, Mandela, Obama, Jackie Robinson, Joe Louis or whoever, they were all human beings with tons of faults and lists of personal failures, they were never really gods at all, only people that by the Grace of God rose to temporal and temporary greatness in life.

I talked to Palin and she said you probably never will!
sayanything-287
Sorry old man, but according to the latest news I read a couple of hours ago, his wife is sticking with him!
I suspect that you have never been in a position of power, widespread adulation and celebrity that presented you with greater temptations than your character could withstand. Perhaps you are without sin, a man of greater personal integrity than most of the men of the world; but in my many decades of life I have seen otherwise good men fall into such temptation for a host of reasons, usually in sexual ways, but to money, drugs, alcohol.
I do not trust men that do not ever fail or make big mistakes; and I have compassion for those that do, for I know my own character is open to such failures and I want others to have compassion for me and encourage me to seek redemption and restoration and so I want to be quick to offer the same understanding and mercy to them.
I compliment you on your fidelity in marriage, I wish more men could achieve that moral goal and I hope that your own weaknesses will never be tested and you never fail; but should you ever prove to be as human as the rest of us, I hope you will find compassion and help to get back to the place from which you fell.

Well it was a really bad imitation, so I suppose you could claim no such desire. But, I do recall him saying exactly that same thing at an NRA meeting some years ago.

Clearly the man is a compulsive idiot who can’t control his urges. That will prove to be some very expensive poontang, but not nearly the cost that was paid due to Clinton’s compulsive behaviour.
sayanything-287
Sorry, but “compulsive idiot” who cannot control his urges seems like an excessive and highly judgmental indictment of his entire character. He will pay a high price! It was very costly, especially to his family and his own self image; and, he must take full responsibility and take steps, which he already has towards restoration.
In my more than six decades of life, I have learned that the vast majority of men, even otherwise decent men can be captivated by their sexual urges, deceived by how they are attractive to women and the adoration of others do do some incredibly stupid, self indulgent things for which they should feel shame; but that once faced with their own frail human character, most often by being exposed; the vast majority of those men can learn from their mistakes and once again become the decent men they and others thought they were all the time.

Hey she’s got to know I exist before she we can develop our relationship.

He fell pretty hard, now he has a marriage and family to restore, a big hill to climb to get back his personal reputation and concentrate on his best way to make a living; and I say give the guy a chance, leave him alone to give his family time to heal.
Tiger cultivated an image of perfection and made over $900 million doing so. Maybe he didn’t realize it but for all practical purposes he signed away his right to privacy with his first $30 million contract from Nike.
If he wants privacy he can retire and give up all his endorsements.
sayanything-287
I am for good or ill compassionate to people who have fallen from a high place, knowing that I am a gross sinner and daily in need of mercy, so forgive me if I extend it to people in desperate need of mercy, IMO.
sayanything-2
Tiger has not reached the point of needing mercy yet, and if he continues to act to the detriment of his children he will never get there. You know my stance on the whole forgiveness issue.
sayanything-287
I never liked Tiger as a golfer because he was just too good and it was never fun watching knowing if he had a chance he would probably win and other great golfers would never have a chance at all. Yet, I just wish people would get off his back now! He was rich, famous and an incredibly great athlete and too many temptations came his way and being told his was a god, he got caught up in his own myth of invincibility. He fell pretty hard, now he has a marriage and family to restore, a big hill to climb to get back his personal reputation and concentrate on his best way to make a living; and I say give the guy a chance, leave him alone to give his family time to heal.

Nman? He was never in “grace”. It has all been a well orchestrated lie, from start to finish.

Don’t be too hard on Tiger. All his life he was taught to do 18 holes.
