They Doth Protest Too Much

The response of the Obama campaign and his supporters to Bush's Knesset speech should have been something like "we know he wasn't talking about us. We abhor appeasement and reject it as a method of fighting the War on Terror." Considering that Bush did not accuse anyone person in particular of being guilty of appeasement, Instapundit's comment that "when somebody condemns appeasement, it doesn't help things to jump up and yell "Hey, he's talking about me!"' pointedly demonstrates how thin-skinned and unimaginative Obama can be. Obama displayed a similar lack of imagination when it was pointed out, incontrovertibly, that he enjoyed the support of Hamas. Rather than categorically rejecting Hamas' endorsement, he instead attacked John McCain for having the audacity to point out that terrorists prefer Obama. He should study the art of political judo a little more closely, he obviously has yet to master its nuances.

Obama walked into this like a drunk into an open manhole, drawing all kinds of attention to the fact that Obama does in fact favor appeasing America's enemies. Giving rogue terrorist states the honor and legitimacy of meeting with America's leader with no conditions and nothing more than a wistful hope that something positive will come of it is indeed appeasement, even if it is not on the scale of handing the entire Sudetenland over to Hitler. Obama flip-flopped on his statement that he would meet with the leaders of Iran and North Korea without any preconditions and now claims he does not favor that policy, but it is too late. We now know what his instincts tell him to do, and it is to capitulate whenever possible. Presumably because America is at fault in the first place, which is of course what his good friend, mentor and spiritual advisor Jeremiah Wright counsels.

Thanks! That RSS feed on the right-hand side is a very useful source of things to blog about, by the way.

He’s simply the stupidest candidate to run for office. He is completely green, and, if it weren’t for the DNC, he’d already be out on his ear. He is just an awful candidate, with absolutely nothing going for him.

When are people going to learn? You are not allowed to point out what Democrats do,say, or support! Thats just not cricket, what.

It is hard to run away from your words when, like the Rev. Wright, they are readily available on your own website or for sale $ in the church.

Obamaites are going to need to get thicker skin. OR tell him to be quiet? He has foot in mouth disease, so does his lovely wife.

Zsa Zsa on May 16, 2008 at 05:58 am

Zsa Zsa,

Would those be “Obamaniacs” you’re referring to?

What’s even worse than getting caught with your foot in your mouth, especially for a politician...or his wife… is trying to shoot yourself in the foot at the same time!

Bat One, Obama maniax.  They seem to be under a spell. It kind of creeps me out that so many would be captivated by Socialism. What is wrong with these people? Free Health care and free drinks for Everyone! Change please! Pocket change that is. We already have medicaid. What more do people want?

Zsa Zsa: I’ll tell you what more they want, they want to be taken care of because they feel entitled to be taken care of.

It’s no coincidence that the ascendancy of leftist politics in America has coincided with the baby-boom generation - arguably the most self centered and self absorbed generation of Americans ever (oh but how the media says that like it’s a good thing). Leftism appeals to people’s sense of self-entitlement and promises great rewards with little effort: you just take it from those who have more because your sense of need is greater.

Entitlement mentality is like a disease. Government should not have the right to rob us!

Zsa Zsa on May 16, 2008 at 12:23 pm

Well, Zsa Zsa, if you think entitlements are robbing us now, wait until we stand by and let Obama become President because we think John McCain isn’t conservative enough!

You will see a sunami of entitlements during Obama’s first four years, all passed by a liberal congress and constitutionally validated by his restructured Supreme Court.  ... and that will be only the FIRST four years!

McCain may not be conservative enough. BUT I will be support him anyway.

Zsa Zsa on May 16, 2008 at 12:36 pm

Thank you, Zsa Zsa, and I hope you will speak out right here on SAB!  The time for whining by the philosophically pure crowd is over.

Obama has to be stopped!

Zsa Zsa.  You come up with good statements.

Entitlement mentality is like a disease. Government should not have the right to rob us!

pparets.  This is why The Truth about these people needs to be broadcast beforehand.

It is also possible that we have reached a tipping point of dishonest people who see a way to (legally) take OPM just like the taking in the kelo case.

Chief RZ:  The time for splitting hairs is over. We either fight to stop Barack Obama or stand on the sidelines whining about how ‘screwed’ we are.

Neither you or I can guarantee anything about ‘tipping points’.

I can’t speak for you - a man for whom I have the highest respect - but I can tell you that the time for spitting on John McCain is over.

Either he wins, or Obama does.

I am not so sure that McCain would stop the spending as well he has been known to not be very loyal to conservative causes. Liberals want people to be dependant on government, they want people to vote for them so they can redistribute wealth and levy high taxes ON the Rich. Class warfare is the leftards and defeatocrats bread and butter.

Barack Hussein Obama looked like a Moron today as he was lecturing Bush and McCain about being a strong leader. His I will debate them anytime any place would eat his lunch.

Goon: You may not be sure that McCain will stop the spending, but you can be CERTAIN that Obama won’t… he will increase the spending and the taxes to pay for it.

The time for speculation is over...Obama is steamrolling already while we stand around and split hairs over McCain.

WE must not let Obama win this election!
