There Is One Nice Thing About Democrats Winning
Now we don’t have to deal with months and months of whining about Diebold and other vote fraud conspiracy theories.
Outside of a few rather minor allegations of voter suppression/vote fraud in some of the more heated contests, Republicans seem to be accepting their defeat humbly and without recrimination. That’s how they should accept them, anyway. The races in Montana and Virginia are close, and Burns/Allen are certainly entitled to a recount, but I think they’ll both avoid the sort of legal warmongering Democrats have been known to engage in after election losses.
Before the election Nancy Pelosi, among other leading Democrats, was making pre-emptive allegations of vote fraud. Now that the Democrats have pulled off a big victory, there is no need for accusations of vote fraud.
Just proving once and for all that, generally, the only time our democratic process is called into question is when Democrats lose. And, of course, that the Democrat campaign strategy pretty much boils down to “we win or you cheated.”
