The Weapon That Could Win The War In Iraq?

I found this video over at Hot Air:

Allah says he’s not quite sure what tactical advantage these things offer, but it seems pretty clear to me. According to the video the range of these beams is much further than small arms fire. Which means that our troops can inflict non-lethal pain on their adversaries while staying mostly out of range of their weapons.
Think of a gun battle in some Iraqi town. Right now our troops are forced to go street-to-street, building-to-building to clear the insurgents out, something that puts them at risk of getting shot or blown up at every turn. Now I’m no expert at this stuff, but it seems to be that you could get a couple of these “pain rays” working a neighborhood and essentially neutralize any terrorist who shows himself. The end result, I would think, is our troops basically being able to herd the terrorists through a city in almost any direction they want. All without killing them and vastly minimizing the risk, beyond pain, to innocent bystanders.
This is a powerful weapon indeed. A life-saving weapon, and it would be a shame if our troops didn’t get it because a couple of bleeding-heart politicians can’t stomach the idea of inflicting a little temporary pain on our enemies.
That said pain would be an alternative to shooting them probably won’t occur to said bleeding hearts.

Oh wait, this isn’t your blog? I always though Rob was your guest poster.

A perfectly understandable mistake. I forgive you.

That’s true. Rob is from Alaska afterall, making him basically a Canadian, so he’s inelligible.

That and the age thing. However I think that if I get elected in 2008 and serve my 8 years he’ll be ready to take over.

If I die before that they’ll have to appoint his Mom as regent.

At least I won’t have to worry so much about a coup d’etat.

Never really could take that guy seriously really. For some reason he just makes me laugh.

    Talk about a generational disconnect.

Andrew, I don’t see a single John Wayne movie in there. Drop down and give me infinity push-ups.

Yeah, surely The Green Berets qualifies. That was a great movie.

Never really could take that guy seriously really.

Not even when he took the scout’s rifle and smashed it against the tree? (I think it was Provo’s, but I’ll have to check).

As far as MM & Hot Air, I can sort of understand some of the restrictions to the site since they get a lot more threats / Malkin derangement syndrome from the left. I’ve never really thought about her site in the same way as SAB, so I suppose my perspective is a bit different.

Back to the main subject to this article:
I think that this device does hold great potential as long as it’s use and expectations are kept realistic. Just because you field it doesn’t mean the targets won’t be able to shoot back. I’m sure that the critics will claim that it causes skin cancer or something. I also see this technology as leading into more destructive forms if later needed (perhaps a more concentrated beam could detonate IEDs from a distance instead of the current slow method of bringing in an EOD team and using C4.

By the way, seeing you are great friends with Allah, feel free to ban me from your blog as well. I will never bow down to that coward and liar!

  • Andrew

Careful, Neiman, you don’t want to have your conservative credentials taken away for criticizing conservative demagogues. Only liberals and wussy (or should I say faggot) RINOS would dare disagree with our divine prophets.
    /sarcasm

  • Neiman

Allah Pundit is a petty, dictatorial, simple minded idiot and has never produced anything of value in his life. Same thing applies to that pig Malkin!

Sorry, I want to be charitable but I could never trust anything from Allah “I think I am god” Pundit!

  • Andrew

Oh, and Neiman, I’ve been watching a lot of war movies lately. Just wanted to say thanks for your service. Soldiers have some mighty big balls.

Side note: Just saw Flags of our Fathers the other week. Man was that movie overrated. Sure it had its moments, but so much for continuity and cohesion. Plus, the whole story of the returning vets was very uninteresting. Anyone know if Iwo Jima is any good?

My all time faves: The Thine Red Line, Saving Private Ryan, The Great Escape, Lawrence of Arabia, Enemy at the Gates, We Were Soldiers

Seeing as you’ve likely seen all the greats, any recommendations for good war movies filmed after 1960? Other than Vietnam movies (sorry, most of them are all pretty similar, with very few inspiring characters/moments, and jungle warfare is boring as hell to watch).

And finally, don’t see the movie Gallipoli. What I thought was going to be a movie focsuing on line runners in the WWI conflict between Australia and Turkey turned into a long drawn out story of a homoerotic friendship between a young Mel Gibson and some 16 year old boy.

I do not ever visit Hot Air and whenever Michelle is on FOX I change the channel. When I am treated unfairly I will wait patiently for an opportunity for a reckoning!

I only mentioned that site and those people because Rob said he got the video from Hot Air and I have never shared my feelings about them here, so I took this opportunity to build a little more ill will for them.

    That’s it!

  • Neiman

Rob: As far as I am concerned, Allah is a petty dictator over at Hot Air, he will not tolerate any criticism of him of any kind. Even without curse words, name calling or any such attacks being present, he will not tolerate any form of criticism and he instantly blocks anyone he finds guilty of failure to worship him as a god. He is a liar, a cheap Nazi and I have no use for him.

I will not go out of my way very often, but when appropriate I will attack him and Michelle because of their incredible intolerance even of fellow conservatives, as far as I am concerned they are a cult of personality and beneath contempt. I am Muslim Allah’s mortal enemy, I want to see him and Michelle destroyed. By the way, I wrote to Michelle and respectfully told her of my bitterness and resentment towards her and Allah.

Ian Schwartz now of Hot Air was a really great blog host at “Expose the Left,” but he sold his soul to Allah and Michelle. It was sad to see because Ian is really a great guy, intelligent, fair minded and he is open to criticism, though never at my hand. Ian operated a truly great blog and was causing power brokers in D.C. to notice him.

I don’t like to feel such anger at anyone, but Allah brought it on himself and because Michelle and Allah are intimate she brought it on herself.

  • Andrew

Good man, Nieman. I don’t like getting worked up over dumb things either. I think one of the main problems with all this infighting that goes on within our party is that perhaps the Republican party isn’t the best party for Conservatives. Unfortunately, it’ll be unlikely we ever get any alternatives suitable or strong enough. Maybe an SA Party. Whistler for Prez, Rob for Vice. ;)

  • Neiman

Andrew: I really do not like it when I feel such anger towards someone; and I wish they had been less hypersensitive and more open to conservative ideas not in prefect alignment with their own.

  • Andrew

I’m glad that you put me at the top of the ticket Andrew.

Never really could take that guy seriously really. For some reason he just makes me laugh. As far as Cowboys go Eastwood was always my fave (Though as a director I haven’t been too impressed: Unforgiven- good but overrated, definately doesn’t belong in the top 100 of all time; Million Dollar Baby- complete shit; and I already spoke of Flags of our Fathers). What pains me is that the inital premise of all his movies are great but then he ruins it with sloppy directing and seems to give the audience less of what they want. Goddamnit more action and less images of depressed people set to sad music.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

I don’t know anything about the Allah Pundit, but if you don’t like him then don’t read him.

There’s no sense getting worked up about it.

I like Michelle Malkin, but I see your point about her being ~inflexible?~. I didn’t like her treatment of John Lott for example.

Sparkie, it works already. The R&D is over. It’s a developed product.

Now we just need to give it to the troops.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Whenever I see one of those synthetic computer gen demos of some product, I assume its not developed yet and some jerk paid a computer nerd for a cool video to solicit the countless millions it will take to find out if the idea works or not.

Did you even watch the video?

    Eastwood was always my fave

Give it to them. Shoot Habib in the face with the thing! I’m all about it. No sarcasm this time!

You can’t blame my skepticism. Whenever I see one of those synthetic computer gen demos of some product, I assume its not developed yet and some jerk paid a computer nerd for a cool video to solicit the countless millions it will take to find out if the idea works or not. You know…

Whoa, Neiman, what’s so bad about Allah?

I’ve sort of gotten to know him over the years, and he seems nice.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/sparkiearbuckle sayanything-81

Oh my god! Let’s give a million billion dillion dollars to Rummy’s college roommate’s defense company for R&D on the off chance that this thing works. Sweet! Why don’t they just come and steal all my money at gunpoint right now instead?

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/sparkiearbuckle sayanything-81

Did you even watch the video?

Yea but I have no sound right now. Looked like computer gen, a truck with an ugly satellite dish on it driving down a road near Barstow, CA; a bunch of dervishes in a field; a GI at a computer; and some battle footage.
